As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t help but get pumped up about the imminent arrival of Marvel Rivals, the exhilarating team-based PvP shooter from NetEase Games. Every day, they’re dropping fresh updates on their social media platforms, showcasing a confirmed character and even a Rivals Assemble video that has fans buzzing. And here’s the cherry on top – each hero will be getting a snazzy new cosmetic skin that players like me can grab in-game! It’s a superhero extravaganza I can’t wait to dive into!
During the recent weekend, events kicked off with a new skin based on Black Panther’s Bast’s Chosen, and the developer has revealed an additional three captivating cosmetics for characters: Frank Castle, also known as the Duelist’s Punisher, and the Strategists, Adam Warlock, and Loki, the Trickster. Each character will acquire distinctive skins that pay homage to their comic book and Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) looks, making them a must-have for avid fans of these characters.
On November 16th, 2024, developers revealed that Adam Warlock would be getting a fresh new look. This cosmetic skin for the Strategist character is modeled after his debut in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, a movie released in 2023. Notably, Adam Warlock will join other prominent members of the Guardians of the Galaxy with this new appearance.
As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t help but get excited about the potential release of Loki’s cosmetic skin in the game. The developers dropped a bombshell announcement on November 17th, 2024, hinting that this might just be the most awaited character makeover. This new look is heavily influenced by the last appearance of our trickster hero in the second season of the MCU series, Loki, where he assumed the mantle of the God of Time.
Lately, the developer has been highlighting The Punisher as their daily spotlight character, but unlike other characters, the new cosmetic skin for this character isn’t based on its portrayals in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Instead, it draws inspiration from the pages of Marvel Comics, as announced on November 18th, 2024, the Punisher’s new skin, called “Punisher 2099,” is designed to resemble or exactly match the appearance of the character in the first issue of Punisher 2099 (1993).
For quite some time now, I’ve been eagerly wondering how I could get my hands on these freshly announced cosmetics for every hero in the game. The big reveal came during the Developer Vision video, though it’s still a mystery where exactly these skin designs will appear. I can check out the in-game Store for potential purchases or maybe earn them through the Season 0 Battle Pass, and possibly even as rewards for completing Galacta’s Quest missions. However, all the specifics are yet to be disclosed.
