As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent chasing Pikachus and Charizards since the 90s, I can confidently say that the upcoming Monopoly: Pokemon Edition for just $25 is a steal! The figurines alone make it one of the coolest versions ever released. Compared to other official editions that cost an arm and a Poké Ball, this price is practically pocket change from my vast collection of rare cards.
Over time, Hasbro has introduced several iterations of Pokémon Monopoly, many of which are either sold out or available at inflated prices through secondary merchants. However, this is set to be rectified with the upcoming release of Monopoly: Pokémon Edition on December 20, as you can now pre-order the board game for a budget-friendly $25. This price point is remarkably lower than that of other officially licensed Pokémon Monopoly editions and comes equipped with charming figurines, making it one of the most appealing versions yet.
Two separate Pokemon-themed Monopoly games, the Pokemon Kanto Edition and the Pokemon Johto Edition, are currently only offered by third-party vendors. The Pokemon Kanto Edition retails for $45, boasting metal tokens representing the original Pokemon characters. On the other hand, the Pokemon Johto Edition is similarly priced at $45, offering metal tokens of Pikachu, Totodile, Togepi, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Pichu.
If you’re looking for something new, the Pokemon Labyrinth board game by Ravensburger is currently on sale at $17 (originally $30). The aim of the game is to maneuver through a constantly changing maze to find various Pokemon. Games usually last about 30 minutes and can accommodate up to four players. An intriguing glow-in-the-dark version of Labyrinth was launched in October, and it’s currently offering a 10% reduction.
