Yesterday marked the public launch of Dune: Awakening. As some fans have already been enjoying the game since last week (those who own the Deluxe and Ultimate editions), we thought it would be interesting to see how things are shaping up for the game now.
- On Steam, Dune: Awakening is achieving excellent results. Yesterday’s activity record was 142,050 players playing simultaneously. This means that the weekend record (117,000) was beaten, achieved only by owners of more expensive editions.
- Such results make Dune: Awakening the biggest hit in the history of Funcom studio. The previous record holder was Conan Exiles, with a record of 53,402 concurrent players.
- The game not only enjoys great popularity but also receives very positive reviews. On Steam, 88% of player opinions are positive.
Discussing the game Dune: Awakening, it’s important to note that some gamers were let down by the absence of the ability to ride sandworms. Consequently, they took matters into their own hands and devised a method to mount one of these creatures. Although this doesn’t permit control like the Freemen do, it remains an entertaining accomplishment.

Primarily focusing on resolving technical glitches and interface issues, this patch is now live. In addition, the latest expansion, Immortality, is up for grabs at $9.99. It comes equipped with the Bene Tleilax board, a host of new cards, and a plethora of challenges to test your gaming skills.
