New on Steam. This year’s most important FPS will overshadow all other launches

Welcome to our series covering the most anticipated new games coming to Steam! Things have been hectic lately, but we’re finally slowing down. The next few days look pretty quiet in terms of major releases.

This week’s release is Battlefield 6 (October 10, 2025)

This week’s biggest release is undoubtedly Battlefield 6, the newest game in the popular first-person shooter series from DICE and EA. Early test versions of the game were very well received, and it appears this release will restore the series’ reputation after the previous installment, BF 2042, was considered a letdown.

Blood of Mehran

Blood of Mehran is an action-adventure game played from a third-person perspective. It’s set in a fascinating fantasy world inspired by ancient Mesopotamia, offering a unique setting compared to the usual medieval European worlds found in similar games. Players will experience both direct combat in open battles and stealthy approaches to overcome enemies.

Streumon Studio, the creators of E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy, recently became independent again after being part of Focus Home Interactive. We’re excited to see what they come up with in their first self-funded project in years.

Gas Station Simulator: RV Camp

Little Rocket Lab

I recently started playing *Little Rocket Lab*, and it’s seriously unlike anything I’ve ever seen! Imagine if *Stardew Valley* and *Factorio* had a baby – that’s pretty much it. You’re this young engineer, and your dream is to build a spaceship right in your hometown. But it’s not just about building, you have to automate *everything* to actually make it happen. It’s a really cool mix of farming, life sim, and factory building!

Blue Protocol: Star Resonance

I’m so excited about Blue Protocol: Star Resonance! It’s a new game building off the original Blue Protocol that came out last year. The best part? It’s going to be free to play, though they’ll likely have some optional stuff you can buy. From what I’ve heard, the gameplay is going to be really fast-paced and action-oriented, but it’s not *just* about fighting. You’ll also be able to chill out and do things like gather resources, fish, and participate in events with other players. It sounds like a really well-rounded experience!

Bye Sweet Carol

I recently heard about Bye Sweet Carol and it sounds amazing! It’s an adventure game, but with a really unsettling horror vibe. What’s really cool is the art style – it’s like something out of an old Disney movie, but twisted. You play as a girl trying to get away from this seriously creepy orphanage that’s been taken over by… nightmare bunnies! Seriously, nightmare bunnies. It sounds wild.

Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch

Okay, so I’m super excited to say that Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch is *finally* leaving Early Access this week! For those who don’t know, it’s a really cool tactical RPG – think lots and lots of strategic, turn-based battles. I’ve been following it for a while, and I can’t wait to play the full version.

The Early Access version was warmly received – it has 89% positive reviews on Steam.

Little Nightmares III

The release of Little Nightmares III this Friday is a major event for fans of the series. It’s the newest game in the popular, spooky platformer franchise, known for its blend of adventure and puzzle-solving.

The first two games in the series were fantastic. There’s some worry about the third one, though, because it’s not being made by the original developers, Tarsier Studios. Supermassive Games, the team behind popular horror games like *Until Dawn* and *The Quarry*, is taking over. They’re usually focused on story-driven adventures, so we’re hoping they can also deliver a great platforming experience.

PixelJunk Eden 2

PixelJunk Eden 2 is the follow-up to the 2008 arcade game. Players control creatures who bounce between plants in beautiful gardens, gathering pollen to help them grow.

Originally released for Nintendo Switch in 2020 to positive reviews – averaging a 77% rating – the game is now available on PC.
