New official look at WWE’s Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes in Street Fighter is here

We’ve just gotten our first official glimpse of WWE stars Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes as their characters in the new Street Fighter movie.

I’m so hyped for this movie! They’ve been releasing a ton of cool stuff lately, and the character posters are amazing. We finally get a really good look at Akuma and Guille – and it’s awesome seeing former WWE rivals Reigns and Rhodes playing those roles!

The first official posters featuring Cody Rhodes as Guile and Roman Reigns as Akuma have been released for the upcoming live-action ‘Street Fighter’ movie.

In theaters on October 16, 2026.

Okay, so Rhodes’ Guille totally nails the look – that hairstyle is the defining feature of the character. But honestly, Reigns as Akuma? It’s wild! I almost didn’t recognize him. Akuma’s got this long, flowing red hair and these intense red eyes, and it really transforms Reigns.

A brief trailer was released, showcasing Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns performing as their wrestling personas. Fans can anticipate a confrontation between the two in the film, mirroring their history in the wrestling ring.

WWE rivals Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes star in the Street Fighter movie

It’s so cool seeing Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes together in Street Fighter, but man, it’s easy to forget they used to be HUGE rivals in WWE! They went head-to-head at WrestleMania twice – both at WrestleMania 39 and then again at WrestleMania 40. Those were intense matches!

The rivalry between Rhodes and Reigns started when Rhodes came back to WWE in 2022. After winning the 2023 Royal Rumble, Rhodes earned a chance to compete against Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

He lost their first match at WrestleMania. However, Rhodes persevered and won the Royal Rumble again in 2024, earning another chance to challenge Reigns for the championship at WrestleMania 40.

Cody Rhodes finally defeated Roman Reigns, bringing an end to his impressive 1,316-day run as Undisputed WWE Champion. While they haven’t battled one-on-one since, they surprisingly teamed up at the Bad Blood event in October 2024. A year later, they were teammates again, this time at the Survivor Series: WarGames match.

A third match between them at WrestleMania is now a possibility. They’re also expected to have a showdown in the upcoming Street Fighter movie.

So, I just found out who’s behind the new Street Fighter movie! Kitao Sakurai is directing, which is awesome, and Dalan Musson wrote the script. The cast looks pretty cool too – Noah Centineo, Andrew Koji, and Callina Lang are all going to be in it. I’m actually getting hyped for this!
