New MCU Crossover Movie Could Include Spider-Man & More Beloved Marvel Heroes

Following Avengers: Secret Wars, the next large-scale event in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is expected to be a faithful adaptation of a significant story arc from Marvel comics, which is currently being set up through several Disney+ series.

Marvel brought back Charlie Cox as Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin in 2021, featuring them in the Marvel Cinematic Universe projects Spider-Man: No Way Home and Hawkeye.

When Kingpin appeared in the Hawkeye series, Marvel began incorporating story elements from the ‘Devil’s Reign’ comic book arc into its movies and TV shows. The upcoming series featuring Echo and Daredevil: Born Again will continue this storyline. Both the comic and the Marvel Cinematic Universe versions of ‘Devil’s Reign’ center around Wilson Fisk, also known as Kingpin, winning the election for Mayor of New York City and then making it illegal for superheroes to operate.

Spider-Man, Daredevil, Luke Cage, and more could appear in the next MCU crossover movie

Marvel Studios is reportedly planning a team-up movie to wrap up the “Devil’s Reign” storyline in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to Alex Perez, a reliable source at the Cosmic Circus, this film would act as an epilogue, connecting back to the story’s beginnings with Wilson Fisk’s appearance in the Hawkeye series.

According to a source, the plan is to create a story focusing on everyday heroes in New York City who have suffered under Wilson Fisk’s control. Characters like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and the Punisher would then unite to defeat Fisk and his allies in a climactic showdown. The source also indicated that a movie is currently the most likely way to include Spider-Man in this team-up, and this project is one of the avenues being explored to bring these heroes together.

As Perez points out, Marvel Studios can feature Spider-Man in its films, but Sony still owns the rights to use the character in television series. Therefore, if Marvel wants Spider-Man to be included in the conclusion of the ‘Devil’s Reign’ storyline, it will have to be in a big-budget movie, not a limited series on Disney+.

With the current Marvel movie plan, known as the Multiverse Saga, not finishing until December 2027 with the release of Avengers: Secret Wars, a movie based on the ‘Devil’s Reign’ storyline wouldn’t be possible until 2028 at the earliest.

While Marvel hasn’t confirmed a Devil’s Reign movie yet, fans can follow the story’s development in the second season of Daredevil: Born Again, coming to Disney+ on March 24, 2026.
