New Lollipop Chainsaw Projects Could Be On The Way

In 2012, the game Lollipop Chainsaw introduced players to Juliet Starling, a cheerleader who fights zombies using a chainsaw and other extravagant weapons. After the release of its remastered version, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP in 2024, not much has been heard about the franchise. However, recent developments show that Lollipop Chainsaw is set to return with new projects following a partnership between Dragami Games and Nada Holdings.

Together, the two companies revealed their intentions to collaboratively initiate numerous upcoming ventures inspired by Lollipop Chainsaw. However, neither Dragami nor Nada provided specifics regarding the nature of these projects. Possible endeavors could include developing a new video game or creating a film adaptation, though other ideas may also be under consideration.

In simpler terms, Shohei Sato, head of Dragami Games, expressed gratitude towards the supporters of Lollipop Chainsaw and commended Nada for providing an opportunity for the company to resurrect the franchise.

According to Sato, the team at Nada Holdings expresses a strong love and excitement for the title, backed by a history of successful IP investment and development. With this partnership, we eagerly anticipate collaborating to develop new projects that preserve the essence and appeal of the original while introducing innovative value to the franchise.

James Gunn, who shares the CEO role at DC Studios and recently helmed the Superman reboot, collaborated on the story for Lollipop Chainsaw alongside Goichi Suda (also known as Suda51). Neither Gunn nor Suda51 took part in the 2024 remaster of the game. If a new project related to this game comes up, it’s uncertain if either Gunn or Suda51 will be available to contribute to it.
