New Like A Dragon: Yakuza Trailer Reveals Who Plays Majima

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I must say that the news about Goro Majima being the main character of Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii has me absolutely thrilled! The fact that Munetaka Aoki, who’s also voicing Majima in the game, will portray him in the live-action series is just the cherry on top.

This week, Sega announced that iconic Yakuza figure, Goro Majima, will take center stage in the upcoming game titled Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. In a live-stream earlier today, RGG Studio unveiled a fresh trailer for Prime Video’s Like a Dragon: Yakuza live-action series. This trailer not only confirmed Majima’s appearance on the show, but also revealed who will be bringing him to life.

Munetaka Aoki takes on the role of Majima in the Yakuza: Like a Dragon series, a fitting choice since he’s also lending his voice to Majima in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. The recently released trailer is packed with action and doesn’t delve too deeply into the story, but it does offer a quick glimpse of Majima, alongside the other main characters, Kazuma Kiryu (played by Ryoma Takeuchi) and Akira Nishikiyama (portrayed by Kento Kaku).

In the TV series, Kiryu, a former Yakuza, finds himself pulled back into the influence of his old gang, as well as his long-time friend Nishikiyama. The contemporary plot will include glimpses into Kiryu’s past to illustrate how his earlier decisions have affected his current relationships and standing within his community.

Despite the upcoming premiere of Like a Dragon: Yakuza on October 24, Amazon Prime Video hasn’t revealed the complete cast lineup as of now. On the other hand, we can expect Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii to make its debut on February 28, 2025.
