New James Bond Game from Creators of Hitman Set to Start a „Big” Trilogy. „This Is New Bond Built From Ground up for Gamers”

As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for spy-themed adventures and a deep affection for the Hitman series, I can’t help but feel a rush of anticipation at IO Interactive’s latest venture, Project 007. The prospect of a personalized Bond, crafted specifically for gamers, is intriguing, to say the least.

IO Interactive, renowned for their ‘Hitman’ franchise, is presently developing Project 007 – a game centered around the thrilling escapades of James Bond. In a recent chat with IGN, developers shed some light on this upcoming project.

  1. This will be the team’s first game that is not their own brand. However, the devs want to create a personal version of Bond, developed specifically with gamers in mind, not an adaptation of his cinematic incarnations.
  2. The game will offer a new, original story from the early stage of Bond’s career, presenting a young version of this character.
  3. The creators hope that the idea won’t end with just one game. If it succeeds, they plan to develop an entire trilogy. As they say:

As a fellow enthusiast, I can’t help but share my excitement about this project! It offers us an unprecedented opportunity to create an entirely original tale – not a game based on a movie, but a fresh start and the birth of a story that could potentially unfold into an epic trilogy in the future. Similarly, the new Bond is more than just a rehash; it’s a gaming experience designed from scratch for us gamers.

Currently, there’s no fixed date announced for the public unveiling of the game. But given the rapid development pace, it looks like we might not have to wait too much longer.

IO Interactive isn’t just working on Project 007; they are also the publishers for it and other projects as well. Yesterday, they announced that MindsEye, an action-adventure game developed by ex-Rockstar Games team members, will be published under their label.
