New game with 38 endings just hit Steam, but 99% of you will probably never play it

As a gamer, I’ve just stumbled upon Steam‘s latest sensation, but it seems like this one might be a bit out of reach for many of us. I’m referring to Emotional Fraud Prevention Simulator, an immersive visual novel game that uses the Full Motion Video (FMV) format. This means the graphics are mainly live-action video sequences starring actors, making it quite different from the typical gaming experience we’re used to.

  1. The game was released on Steam on June 19 and already has almost 28,000 reviews, 96% of which are positive.
  2. The title also achieves impressive activity results – last weekend it set a new record with 89,127 players playing simultaneously.
  3. If all this has piqued your interest, then unfortunately, we have some bad news – the game is only available in Chinese (via GameStar).

In this interactive experience, you’ll find yourself in the role of a young man whose world is shaken by six enigmatic women. The game incorporates romantic themes, but primarily revolves around suspense, with your choices guiding the narrative to one of 38 possible conclusions.

Love scams significantly contribute to the storyline, lending an educational aspect to the project due to their prevalence as a genuine issue in modern-day China. Regrettably, it’s been estimated that approximately 3.5 billion euros were swindled from unsuspecting victims through these fraudulent schemes in the year 2023 alone.

The impressive achievement of this project demonstrates a persistent pattern on Steam, as there has been growing interest among Chinese developers and gamers in FMV (Full Motion Video) adventure games.

Over the past few months, we’ve noticed some intriguing titles like “My Voyage”, “Greetings, Love”, “Influencer’s Soul”, “Game of Destiny 2”, “Codename: Dawnbreak”, “Gentleman, Resist My Influence to Become Immortal”, and “Five Hearts Sharing One Roof”. Remarkably, some of these have English versions available, so if you’re in the mood for something fresh, now is your opportunity! Notably, many of these titles are currently reduced during Steam’s summer sale.

It’s quite logical, given the fact that China boasts a vast film and TV industry. Consequently, game creators face no challenges in sourcing actors, directors, and set designers for their endeavors.
