
A new Dragon Ball game, called Age 1000, is officially in development. It’s scheduled to come out in 2027 and will feature a brand new character created by Akira Toriyama himself.
A recent announcement on the official Dragon Ball Games X/Twitter account revealed that Age 1000 will feature a completely new Dragon Ball world and introduce all-new characters.
Central to the reveal is a character personally designed by Toriyama before his death in 2024.
What we know about Dragon Ball Age 1000 so far
The announcement revealed that Age 1000 is a brand new Dragon Ball game being created.
The announcement showcases a brand new Dragon Ball universe created by Akira Toriyama, and includes artwork of a character with white hair dressed in clothing from Capsule Corp.
Get ready for a brand new Dragon Ball character! Legendary artist Akira Toriyama designed this original character for the upcoming Dragon Ball game, “AGE 1000,” which is scheduled to release in 2027. We’ll share the first look at the new character and other updates at the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 event in the U.S. on April 18th and 19th.

We don’t yet know what systems this will be on or how the game will play. However, based on the trailer, it seems likely the new character will gain abilities by connecting with powers from other characters in the game.
It’s unclear how this new, mysterious character relates to powerful fighters like Goku and Vegeta, but the revealed footage does show they’ll be able to transform into a Super Saiyan.
The announcement also mentions that more new characters will be added as the project progresses.
We’ll be learning more about Age 1000 at the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour event in the US on April 18th and 19th, 2026.
