The Russo brothers, who direct the Avengers films, have recently unveiled a fresh snapshot from ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, as they keep working on the upcoming part of the popular superhero series. As of now, ‘Doomsday’ is set to debut in theaters on December 18, 2026, with ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ following suit a year later on December 17, 2027.
What is in the new Avengers: Doomsday photo?
On Instagram, the Russo Brothers posted a mysterious picture tagged “#DoomsdayIsComing”, which appears to show scribbles on a blackboard, igniting excitement among fans about its possible connection to “Avengers: Doomsday”. So far, Marvel Studios has kept silent regarding any new cast members for the movie. As a result, speculation about potential actors like Doctor Strange, Deadpool, Peggy Carter, Steve Rogers, and Spider-Man continues to swirl online.
The upcoming Avengers movie titled “Avengers: Doomsday” is being led by directors Joe and Anthony Russo from a script penned by Stephen McFeely. This new addition to the series will welcome back actors Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Hemsworth, with Chris Evans potentially making an appearance. The Oppenheimer actor (presumably Michael B. Jordan, given his role in Oppenheimer) is set to portray a distinct character this time around as Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom. The star-studded cast also includes Jacob Batalon, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Paul Rudd, Tom Hiddleston, Sebastian Stan, Florence Pugh, Tenoch Huerta Mejia, Kelsey Grammer, Lewis Pullman, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Hannah John-Kamen, Anthony Mackie, Simu Liu, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, and Danny Ramirez.
The upcoming fifth edition will bring back Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier, Ian McKellen’s Magneto, Alan Cumming’s Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn’s Mystique, James Marsden’s Cyclops, and Channing Tatum’s Gambit from the X-Men series.
