The revolution will continue in Netflix’s Money Heist.
Netflix’s hit crime series Money Heist was a surprising success. Originally a Spanish show on the verge of cancellation, it quickly became one of Netflix’s most popular international series. The show gained global recognition, winning an International Emmy Award for Best Drama, and has become a cultural phenomenon, known for its themes of resistance and the iconic anti-fascist anthem, “Bella Ciao.”
Just before the second season of Berlin arrives, there’s exciting news for fans of Money Heist (La Casa de Papel): the show is coming back! While Netflix hasn’t revealed if it will be a new season of the original, another spin-off, or a continuation of the existing story, the Money Heist world is growing. The announcement was made on X (formerly Twitter) with a message saying, “Bella Ciao is STILL playing. The world of ‘Money Heist’ continues.”
Netflix has hinted that Money Heist isn’t just getting another season—they’re building a whole franchise around the show.
Many great stories begin with a bold move, and this one completely transformed the landscape. Starting with a simple robbery for money, it escalated into the most ingenious heist of the century – a daring assault on the Bank of Spain with tons of gold at stake. The world of ‘Money Heist’ has consistently expanded, developed, and kept audiences on the edge of their seats.
The excitement of ‘Money Heist’ doesn’t stop here! This is where you’ll find everything related to the show going forward. If you want to stay updated on the gang’s next moves and be part of the ongoing story, this is the place to be.
The world of ‘Money Heist’ continues on Netflix.”
Álvaro Morte, the actor who plays the Professor in Money Heist, revealed the show is coming back at the premiere of Berlin season 2, which launches on Netflix May 15th. According to Spanish newspaper El País, the production company Vancouver and creator Alex Pina are filming a four-part miniseries centered around Colonel Tamayo (Fernando Cayo). It’s currently unknown if this miniseries is what Netflix has been teasing as the return of Money Heist.
After the huge success of Money Heist, the story expanded with a spin-off series called Berlin, two behind-the-scenes documentaries (Money Heist: The Phenomenon and Money Heist: From Tokyo to Berlin), and even a video game. Like another global hit, the non-English series Squid Game, Money Heist has the potential to become a massive franchise with multiple spin-offs and related content.
Money Heist is available to watch on Netflix.
