Netflix viewers convinced Ellen DeGeneres special is scripted after “ridiculous” applause

As a seasoned gamer with over a decade of binge-watching experience under my belt, I have to say that Ellen DeGeneres‘ latest stand-up special on Netflix left me scratching my head more than a Rubik’s cube. The prolonged ovation at the end, lasting over a minute, had me questioning whether it was a well-planned stunt or if the audience was just really that enthused about her admitting she can be tough.

In a fresh turn of events, Ellen DeGeneres is back with a brand-new stand-up comedy special streaming on Netflix. However, an unexpected incident in the show has sparked speculation among viewers, leading them to believe that the whole thing might have been orchestrated.

Returning to the limelight prominently, DeGeneres expresses herself by admitting that she faced a setback in her career following accusations of workplace bullying on her popular daytime talk show, leading to her temporary exit from the entertainment industry.

Prior to its debut, the comedian made it clear by saying, “You won’t be seeing me again after this Netflix special – I’ve decided to call it quits.

She addresses the accusations of spearheading a toxic workplace environment during the special, joking with the audience that she was blacklisted for “being mean.”

this is one of the craziest things i have ever seen

Towards the end of the performance, she confessed that she can sometimes be assertive, impulsive, and firm. Essentially, she acknowledged her strength as a woman.

As the crowd erupts into applause, it doesn’t subside for more than a minute straight. It’s an extended standing ovation, filled with people rising to their feet and shouting their approval, creating an unforgettable moment that sends shivers down my spine.

One viewer commented on X/Twitter, “This feels overly scripted, and I can’t help but wonder if the person behind this is incredibly eccentric to write something so lengthy.” Another Twitter user said, “It seems staged, the camera angles are too strategically placed.

Initially, it seems unbelievable to me, and if authentic, it appears she’s been meticulously preparing this performance for the recording. Having spent 14 years in stand-up comedy, I can confidently say that Americans are more enthusiastic, but it’s highly improbable that a full minute of applause was given just for her admitting such a harsh word about herself.

Some people believe that incident was scripted, as one person put it: “At the conclusion of filming, comedians frequently return to specific instances and re-deliver jokes or punchlines. Afterward, they guide the audience on how to respond appropriately.

Initially, I think this might be untrue or staged for recording purposes, as suggested by another person.

The show hasn’t been received favorably by critics, as evidenced by Time Magazine’s critique: “What’s wrong with For Your Approval, beyond the fact that it rarely elicits laughter, is its lack of sincerity.

Critics accuse Ellen DeGeneres of playing the role of a “victim” and evading the accusations made against her in the 2020 BuzzFeed report. The report contained allegations of racist behavior and sexual misconduct on the set of her talk show.
