As a cinephile with a deep appreciation for innovative storytelling and groundbreaking visual effects, I am thrilled to hear about Netflix India’s collaboration with the brilliant duo Raj & DK for their new action-fantasy series “Rakt Bramhand – The Bloody Kingdom.” Their previous works, such as “99,” “Shor in the City,” and “Go Goa Gone,” have left a lasting impression on me with their unique narratives and bold storytelling.
Netflix India announced a fresh partnership with filmmakers Raj and DK for their inaugural action-fantasy series, titled “Rakt Bramhand – The Bloody Kingdom.” This endeavor comes after their recent successful joint work on the show “Guns & Gulaabs.”
Two-person team D2R Films, led by Rahi Anil Barve (director) and Sita R. Menon (writer), will collaborate on an upcoming series. This project includes thrilling action scenes and stunning visual effects, all within a fictional kingdom backdrop. Production is set to start shortly.
Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, working as Raj & DK, have made a name for themselves as trailblazing directors in the Indian film industry. They rose to fame through movies like “99,” “Shor in the City,” and “Go Goa Gone.” Their achievements extend to streaming platforms with popular Prime Video series such as “The Family Man” and “Farzi.” In 2022, Netflix signed a long-term creative deal with this dynamic duo.
In 2018, Barve introduced himself in the world of feature films with the highly praised “Tumbbad.” This period folk horror movie was admired for its striking visuals and innovative storytelling. The film’s premiere took place at the Venice Film Festival, marking the beginning of the Critics’ Week section. Additionally, it was screened at Fantastic Fest, Busan International Film Festival, and BFI London Film Festival, making for an impressive international festival tour.
Menon, who has a long-standing partnership with Raj and DK, has teamed up with them on numerous projects in the role of a writer. Some of her accomplishments include collaborating on “The Family Man” series and other films produced by D2R Films.
