As a die-hard Squid Game fan, I can barely contain my excitement! The thought of the thrilling finale to this captivating series is already making my heart race. I’ve been eagerly awaiting Season 3 ever since the nail-biting ending of Season 2, and now it seems that the wait might be shorter than we initially thought!
The rumored June release date for Squid Game Season 3 has sent ripples through the fandom, with fans like myself rejoicing at the prospect of diving back into this gripping world once again. While Netflix hasn’t officially confirmed it yet, I have a feeling that the stars are aligning for us to reunite with our favorite characters in just six short months!
Of course, with other highly anticipated shows such as Wednesday Season 2 and Stranger Things Season 5 also set to release in 2025, I can’t help but wonder if the summer will be too packed with entertainment for my poor, overworked DVR. But hey, a fan can dream, right?
In the meantime, I’ll keep rewatching the previous seasons, dissecting theories, and speculating about the next game in the Squid Game universe. After all, isn’t that what being a fan is all about? And if all else fails, maybe I can find solace in the fact that at least we won’t have to wait another three years!
Oh, and let me leave you with this little joke: Why don’t the characters in Squid Game ever play hide and seek? Because good luck hiding when you’re always getting eliminated!
It was previously known that Squid Game Season 3, its final installment, was scheduled for a 2025 release; however, it seems that Netflix may have unintentionally disclosed the specific release date recently.
Without much doubt, discussions have shifted towards when the remaining installments of Squid Game Season 2 might be released, given that the final episode concluded with an enormous plot twist: the Leader once again took control, thwarting Seong Gi-hun’s rebellion.
There are numerous interpretations about the events in Season 3 (and those characters who seem to be meeting the Grim Reaper), but for now, we can only guess what might transpire.
As someone who has waited years for a highly anticipated sequel, I can confidently say that the news of back-to-back filming for the second and third chapters has made my day. Having experienced countless delays in the past, this announcement fills me with a sense of relief and anticipation. It feels like the wait might finally be coming to an end, and we may even have a release date soon. I can hardly contain my excitement!
Netflix reveals June release date for Squid Game Season 3
This week, the official Korean Netflix YouTube channel posted a brief announcement revealing the anticipated premiere date for Squid Game Season 3: June 27, 2025.
Despite being swiftly taken down and re-posted without a date in the description, the internet quickly spread the word, and soon enough, screenshots of the initial post appeared on the show’s dedicated Reddit community.
According to current reports, Netflix hasn’t announced an official release date yet, but given what creator Hwang Dong-hyuk hinted earlier, we might be expecting the third season soon.
In a conversation with Variety, he shared that although he can’t reveal many details about the storyline, “I’m allowed to share that following the release of Season 2, we should be revealing the premiere date for Season 3 quite soon.
“I probably expect that to launch around summer or fall next year,” Dong-hyuk added.
Fans react to potential summer release
A snapshot from a YouTube Short related to Squid Game was posted in its subreddit, and while it hasn’t been officially verified, fans are expressing enthusiastic reactions towards the prospective summer premiere.
One person exclaimed, ‘Thank goodness! Waiting until fall seems so far off,’ while another agreed, ‘Six months from now sounds reasonable.’
The third person said, “Six months is tough, but it’s STILL much, much BETTER than three years.” The fourth then agreed, expressing hope with, “I sure hope that’s true.
Some people are hesitant because there are several highly anticipated Netflix releases slated for 2025, such as the second season of Wednesday and the fifth season of Stranger Things.
The person mentioned that it wouldn’t work out since they have Wednesday, One Piece Season 2, and Stranger Things Season 5 on their schedule.
Indeed, another Squid Game enthusiast made a good observation: “That show aligns perfectly with Halloween themes.
One individual commented, “One Piece doesn’t hold the same caliber, so I don’t foresee any problems arising. My prediction is that Wednesday will debut on Halloween, whereas Stranger Things will likely premiere during the year-end holidays.
Without a doubt, all these titles are expected to come out in 2025; however, as of now, no specific release dates have been announced for any of them.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’m eagerly waiting for news on Squid Game Season 3, but until Netflix officially announces its release, I’ll hold off on planning my summer binge-watching break.
