Netflix Is Adding More Series From A Rival Streamer, Including Walking Dead Spin-Offs

As a long-time gamer and avid fan of both AMC’s original series and Netflix, I couldn’t be more excited about the upcoming addition of several AMC+ shows to Netflix. For years, I’ve had to juggle multiple streaming services just to keep up with my favorite TV shows, but come August 19, I’ll have one less platform to worry about.

Starting next month, a significant number of AMC’s original series previously only available on AMC+, such as The Walking Dead and its spin-offs, Better Call Saul, and Breaking Bad, will be added to Netflix’s library.

Starting August 19, Netflix will debut the initial installment of Fear the Walking Dead and the latest series The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, making their streaming premiere. Simultaneously, Interview with the Vampire Season 1, Mayfair Witches Season 1, The Terror Season 1, That Dirty Black Bag Season 1, Gangs of London Seasons 1-2, Dark Winds Seasons 1-2, Kevin Can F*** Himself Seasons 1-2, Into the Badlands Seasons 1-3, and Preacher Seasons 1-4 will also be available for the first time on Netflix.

As a dedicated gamer and fan, I can’t help but notice the timing of events: Daryl Dixon from Season 1 will be available on Netflix around mid-August, less than a month-and-a-half before Season 2 premieres on AMC on September 29. Previously, AMC acknowledged the role Netflix played in broadening the fanbase for shows like Breaking Bad and Mad Men through streaming. Maybe this collaboration between platforms will help boost Daryl Dixon’s popularity to new heights as well.

Two upcoming spin-offs of “The Walking Dead” on Netflix, titled “The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 1” and “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live Season 1,” have been scheduled for release on January 13, 2025. These shows will be commercialize-free for all Netflix viewers, including those with the ad-supported subscription plan. Nevertheless, it is essential to note that this arrangement will last for merely a year.
