In a black-and-white video clip, the folk-rock artist expresses that it will mark his return to performing after nearly four years, admitting that he’s incredibly nervous about it.
The film, titled “Young’s Journey,” is helmed by Daryl Hannah, actress and director, who is also Young’s wife, and produced by Gary Ward. Rachel Simmer handles the editing, while Adam CK Vollick and Hannah take care of the cinematography. The documentary offers an intimate, backstage look at Young’s life. A companion soundtrack album will be released a day after its exclusive, one-time screening date.
Young’s “Coastal” soundtrack comprises eleven tracks, including “Vampire Blues”, “I Am a Child”, “Expecting to Fly”, as well as “Song X” and “Prime of Life”.

Last year, the movie first appeared at the Woodstock Film Festival and was advertised as an intimate portrayal of Young’s comeback performance after Covid-19 – “ranging from his everyday glimpses on the bus to his casual, humorous exchanges with the audience,” according to a press statement.
Hannah has acted in various movies, including “Blade Runner,” “Splash,” “Wall Street,” “Steel Magnolias,” and “Kill Bill: Volume 2.” The latter film brought her a Saturn Award.
Hannah made an appearance at the Academy Awards, taking on the role as presenter for the category of best editing. During her time on stage, she expressed her support for Ukrainian communities by shouting out “Slava Ukraine” (“Glory to Ukraine”), as tensions rose between the United States and Ukraine over potential withdrawal of support for Ukraine in its struggle against Russia.
