Negan Will Kill The Croat Before Dead City Season 2 Ends

Caution: This article may reveal SPOILERS for The Walking Dead spin-off series, Dead City, specifically season 2 episode 5 titled “The Bird Always Knows”. Despite Negan’s history of violence in The Walking Dead, the number of deaths he has caused in Dead City has been relatively low. However, it seems likely that he will take the life of at least one character before the end of season 2. In the finale of Dead City season 1, Negan surrendered to Dama and Croat in exchange for Hershel, allowing the antagonists to manipulate him into serving their purposes. Consequently, Negan was compelled to carry out their plans, which included uniting Manhattan’s factions against New Babylon. His efforts saw some success but were not without complications.

Although Negan was largely controlled by the Burazi throughout season 2 of his “Walking Dead” spinoff, a significant shift occurred in his storyline. It seems that the main character is now plotting an escape, and not just for himself but also with his family. Moreover, it looks like Negan might have ambitions beyond island freedom – he may be aiming to bring tranquility to Manhattan. This would require him to neutralize all major threats in the city, a task that will no doubt prove challenging. However, given that his manipulative skills led to the demise of one adversary already, I’m certain he won’t leave Manhattan without eliminating his long-standing enemy.

Negan Will Surely Kill The Croat After What He Did To Christos’ Group

The Croat Has Crossed Too Many Lines For Negan To Spare Him

Initially having a rocky start, Negan and Christos seemed on the verge of reconciliation until the Croat intervened. Instead of following the Dama’s instruction to form an alliance, the Croat brutally murdered Christos and his men using poison gas. He took pride in sparing the women and children, viewing it as a small victory. However, this act left the innocent survivors with no supplies and no protection, adding fuel to Negan’s growing animosity towards the Croat.

In the thrilling world of this show, I find myself confidently predicting that Negan is poised to exact revenge on the Croat for all his past transgressions. His scheme against the Croat and the Dama seems to be unfolding flawlessly. The tension between these two villains has reached an explosive level, culminating in what appears to be the Dama’s demise. For the rest of season 2, Negan will likely step into the role of the Croat’s confidant, manipulating him from behind the scenes. However, I suspect he is merely playing the long game, waiting for the perfect moment to strike his enemy down when they least expect it.

It’s possible that Negan could focus on Bruegel and other remaining villains in Dead City as well, but dealing with the Croat seems to be his immediate concern. The Croat might think they are friends, but it’s clear that feeling isn’t reciprocated by Negan, which suggests the Croat may not have much time left.

Negan Killing The Croat Has Been A Long Time Coming

Negan’s History With The Croat Stems Back To The Start Of The Apocalypse

In the first season of “Dead City,” the character known as the Croat was initially new to viewers, yet he had a longer history, which set up his confrontation with Negan. Prior to meeting Alexandria and its allied groups, much about the Saviors’ past was unknown, but “Dead City” revealed that the Croat was once significant within their ranks. Initially serving as an interrogator, the Croat’s behavior grew increasingly erratic while working under Negan, eventually forcing the leader to eliminate his trusted subordinate.

Unluckily for Negan, his shot missed its mark, striking the Croat’s ear instead, causing him to make a hasty exit. Although he had to leave Sanctuary behind, the Croat appears not to bear much resentment in Dead City. However, Negan continues to harbor strong feelings of animosity towards his ex-ally, with these sentiments growing stronger whenever they cross paths. This hostility is evident as the ruthless and violent nature of the Croat has shown no signs of change since those old days.

Consequently, Negan’s execution of the Croat is a culmination of many years, potentially his most gratifying kill during his tenure on “The Walking Dead”.
