NCSOFT to release free-to-play MMORPG Blade & Soul Neo on Steam soon

NCSOFT has shared the news that the free-to-play MMORPG called “Blade & Soul Neo” is set to be released on PC through Steam. The exact release date, however, remains undisclosed with only a general timeline of ‘soon.’

Blade & Soul Neo represents an updated, imaginative take on the initial Blade & Soul MMORPG game, initially launched on NCSOFT’s Purple platform back in February.

On Steam, the revamped version of PURPLE’s classic MMORPG is now available for free. This updated edition will retain its original high-quality graphics, a complete storyline, and the popular Infinite Windwalk feature, along with intense player versus player combat, new combat mechanics, and an advanced character creation system. Since its launch on February 25, NC America has released two free content updates for this MMORPG, such as Moonwater Plains 1 and 2, with additional updates scheduled up until summer 2025.

Redesigned for a Modern Audience

In simple terms, Blade & Soul NEO offers players a chance to reexperience the original game’s wuxia-inspired fantasy realm, allowing them to assume the role of a character on a mission to redeem their clan’s honor by following the initial storyline once more.

Newcomers swiftly become part of the renowned Hongmoon Clan, guided by Master Hong, but are shocked to see it abruptly demolished by Jinsoyun and her allies Yura and Gubong. With their lives hanging in the balance, enthusiasts of MMORPGs embark on an exciting quest for knowledge, mystery, and adventure, either alone or with companions.
