NBC’s Worst Cancelation Mistake Of 2025 Haunts It By Being A Streaming Success

In 2025, NBC canceled a couple of shows, but one of them is now surprisingly successful on a streaming service. Networks regularly review their programs to decide which ones to continue and which to cancel. These decisions are based on many things, but canceling a show always upsets viewers.

TV show cancellations for 2025 include a mix of comedies and dramas. Some shows, like The Conners, had long runs, while others, such as Suits LA, were relatively new. Networks regularly update their lineups to stay competitive, but some cancellations are particularly disappointing. NBC is currently seeing this firsthand, as a show they canceled is now finding success on a streaming service.

Why Found Was NBC’s Worst Cancelation Decision In 2025

Premiering in 2023, the NBC series Found stood out with a truly original concept. Most crime shows begin with a clear case-of-the-week, relying on ongoing mysteries and character growth to keep audiences engaged. Found took a different approach, following Gabi Mosely, a crisis management expert, and her team as they found missing people often overlooked by law enforcement. What made the show unique was that Gabi herself was a survivor of kidnapping, and she was secretly holding her captor, known as Sir, prisoner.

In the season 2 finale of Found, Gabi’s long-held secret – that she kidnapped her own kidnapper – was finally revealed, promising a compelling third season for her and her team. Sadly, NBC canceled the show before season 3 could happen, leaving viewers with a particularly frustrating cliffhanger. While cancellations are never easy, it’s especially disappointing when a show with obvious potential is cut short just as it’s about to deliver.

Found Becomes A Streaming Hit For Netflix

Less than a year after NBC canceled it, the show Found is now doing very well on Netflix. According to data from FlixPatrol, it’s currently the fourth most-watched series on the platform, following Run Away, Stranger Things, and live coverage of Raw. What’s notable is that Found is the only show on that list that isn’t a Netflix original—all of its episodes have already aired on NBC and Peacock.

I’ve been really enjoying Found lately, and it’s amazing how quickly it’s found an audience on Netflix after landing there just after the new year! It’s a shame it didn’t really take off when it originally aired on NBC, and it makes me wonder if it would have grown if the network had given it another season. If it keeps doing so well on Netflix, I’m hoping the streamer considers bringing it back – Gabbi and Sir deserve a proper conclusion to their story, you know?
