The trailer for season 2 of The Hunting Party is finally here! Most of NBC’s popular crime shows for the 2025-2026 season are already airing, and the big franchises from Dick Wolf are currently on break. But NBC is also planning to revive one of its newer crime dramas, which first premiered recently.
JJ Bailey’s The Hunting Party centers around a clandestine prison located in the Wyoming wilderness. Things go wrong when an explosion disables the prison’s security, freeing its most dangerous inmates. Former FBI profiler Bex, played by Melissa Roxburgh, leads the team responsible for recapturing these serial killers and uncovering the truth behind the disaster.
With the premiere of season 2 of The Hunting Party just around the corner, NBC has released a new trailer. The minute-long video gives a sneak peek at the guest stars joining the show this season – and hints that many of them will be playing serial killers. You can watch the trailer here:
When it first came out, The Hunting Party received a remarkably low 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. While the critics’ score has since improved to 25%, it’s notably different from the audience score, which is a strong 83%. Despite negative reviews, the show has clearly resonated with viewers, and if it keeps up the quality of its first season, its fans will probably stay engaged.
Despite mixed reviews, the second season of The Hunting Party boasts a strong lineup of guest stars. NBC has confirmed that Eric McCormack, Finnigan McCormack, Kelsey Grammer, Niecy Nash-Betts, Liz Gillies, and Jefferson White will all appear. The network also promises even more surprise celebrity appearances, which could help boost viewership.
Even though the show’s concept isn’t entirely new, The Hunting Party can likely continue if it keeps its existing fans happy. Viewers who enjoyed the first season are probably already invested in the characters and story. Delivering on hinted storylines and continuing to develop the main characters could be enough to get NBC to order a third season.
