Natalie Portman is expecting her third child, her first with her partner, French musician and producer Tanguy Destable, known as Tepr. She told Harper’s Bazaar she and Tanguy are thrilled and feels incredibly lucky. Portman shares two children – 14-year-old Aleph and 9-year-old Amalia – with her ex-husband, Benjamin Millepied, and says this pregnancy feels similar to her previous ones. She also mentioned feeling surprisingly energetic.
Natalie Portman is busy promoting two upcoming projects: the art-focused film The Gallerist and Lena Dunham’s Netflix series Good Sex. The 44-year-old actress says her father, a fertility doctor, helped her appreciate her pregnancies. She explains that growing up, she heard a lot about the difficulties people face trying to conceive, and wants to be sensitive to that. She feels pregnancy is both wonderful and challenging. This time, however, she’s experiencing a slightly longer pregnancy, as France considers a full term to be 41 weeks instead of 40. She jokingly wonders if that extra week makes up for the fact that pregnancy is called la grossesse in French.
