For the very first time in India, Reliance Entertainment is set to screen the legendary “Naruto” anime series in cinemas. The official trailer for “Naruto: Movie – Battle in the Snowy Village” has been unveiled.
As a follower of the franchise, I’m thrilled about the upcoming theatrical releases, which were first announced by EbMaster in April. This marks a momentous step forward for anime distribution in India, as the movie will be available in three languages – Japanese, English, and Hindi – allowing us to enjoy it regardless of our regional language preferences.
This joint venture by Reliance Entertainment, TV Tokyo, and Happening 365 Synergies represents a bold move to penetrate one of the world’s rapidly expanding entertainment sectors. This collaboration makes India a strategic region for TV Tokyo’s worldwide growth plan.
Hiroaki Saiki, from TV Tokyo’s worldwide distribution department, declared excitement about the debut of a unique cinematic adventure designed especially for Indian viewers. The initial movie among the 11 already created is due out this month at cinemas nationwide. We eagerly anticipate Indian audiences to enjoy these films and explore them all.
Saiki stated that this project signifies an important step in our worldwide plan, and we’re excited to introduce the Naruto saga on the big screen for the first time in India, a market rapidly expanding for us.
Tejonidhi Bhandare, CEO of Reliance Animation, shared his vision for expanding the brand’s influence among younger generations by organizing outreach initiatives at various educational establishments.
Bhandare mentioned that our goal is to cultivate the ‘Naruto’ brand within India by engaging extensively with schools and colleges nationwide. This ground-level interaction aims to foster a new wave of anime enthusiasts, ultimately solidifying ‘Naruto’ as a significant cultural influence among young Indian audiences.”

“Bhandare shared that we’re committed to spreading the ‘Naruto’ brand in India through extensive outreach programs in schools and colleges across the country. These grassroots initiatives aim to foster a new generation of anime fans, ultimately positioning ‘Naruto’ as a cultural phenomenon among young Indian audiences.
I’ve been truly captivated by the impact “Naruto” has had on me, and it seems I’m not alone. As a huge fan, I can’t help but acknowledge that its influence extends beyond my fandom; it has inspired Reliance Animation in creating their unique original content.
Anuron and Kalpita, representatives at Happening 365 Synergies (a distribution firm led by ex-Disney execs), emphasized the strong cultural connection that the franchise has within the region.
As a devoted movie enthusiast, I can attest that anime has occupied a cherished corner in the hearts of Indian spectators, particularly among kids and millennials, for over two decades now. The big-screen debut of the ‘Naruto’ films signifies a pivotal moment in this fascinating voyage, vividly depicting potent themes of camaraderie, devotion, and resilience that strike a chord with Indian spectators.
The movie ‘Naruto: Naruto the Movie – Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow’ will be screened at over 200 locations throughout the country on June 27.
Dhruv Sinha, who leads international businesses and syndication at Reliance Entertainment, stated: “The fanbase for ‘Naruto’ in India is enormous and devoted. By releasing it on over 200 screens nationwide, we’re not just paying tribute to that fanbase, but also emphasizing our dedication to offering a wide array of globally diverse and culturally enriching content to Indian theaters extensively.
As a movie enthusiast and reviewer, I’m thrilled to share that Reliance Entertainment’s latest move aligns with their broader strategy of utilizing international intellectual properties (IP) for the Indian market. With an impressive portfolio boasting over 400 films earning more than a billion dollars worldwide, this company continues to expand its horizons in new media, particularly animation and gaming. These innovative assets serve as a platform to monetize their film IP across multiple platforms, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience for viewers like us.
The initial cinematic premiere of “Naruto” could act as a blueprint for future anime releases in India, since distributors are assessing Indian audiences’ interest in Japanese content on larger screens. Given its dedicated fanbase and multi-lingual approach, this release might function as an indicator of the broader potential success of anime films in the Indian subcontinent.
