Naomie Harris, Jameela Jamil and Romesh Ranganathan to Star in Olivia Lee’s Andrew Tate-Inspired Feminist Comedy ‘Hysterical’ (EXCLUSIVE)

As a seasoned movie enthusiast with a penchant for feminist narratives that resonate deeply, I find myself intrigued by the upcoming dramedy “Hysterical.” With a stellar cast led by Naomie Harris and Jameela Jamil, and the talented Olivia Lee at the helm, this project promises to deliver a powerful message about women’s empowerment.

Actors Naomie Harris, Jameela Jamil, and Romesh Ranganathan will appear in a fresh, female-empowering comedy-drama titled “Untitled Olivia Lee Project,” which draws partial inspiration from the contentious figure Andrew Tate. According to recent reports by EbMaster.

Under the title “Hysterical,” the series produced by Lee, the creator of “Dirty, Sexy, Funny,” focuses on a circle of companions who, driven by anger and rose wine, embark on a mission to bring down a prominent global figure known for misogyny.

In “Hysterical,” Harris portrays therapist Leonora, who embarks on an exploration of toxic masculinity after her daughter experiences an assault. The perpetrator is a follower of alpha influencer Tommy T, a figure who has amassed a large global following by dispensing harmful advice to young men. In a heated discussion among friends during their weekly “venting” sessions, Leonora expresses her outrage and frustration over the situation, fueled by anger and alcohol. As the conversation intensifies, the group collectively decides to take action against Tommy T themselves.

Friends stumble through a series of misguided attempts at spying and pranks, but what starts as harmless fun escalates into more outlandish schemes. Along the journey, they uncover the destructive power that a close-knit group can wield when channeling their anger, and find themselves pushing boundaries to support each other. Balancing school runs, social interactions with neighbors, managing daily life and demanding jobs, these women learn that they might not be as incapable of retaliation as they thought—they simply have to do it on their terms.

Lee will additionally appear in the show that’s being manufactured by Ranganathan’s production company, Ranga Bee Productions.

EbMaster understands “Hysterical” is currently in advanced negotiations with commissioners.

Ranganathan and Lee exec produce the show alongside Michelle Farr and Benjamin Green.
