From a passionate fan’s perspective, I regretfully admit that the probability of My Summer Car being released on consoles is slim to none. The game is currently in Early Access and it’s an unusual occurrence for unfinished titles like this one to surface on platforms such as Sony’s.
As a gamer, I can relate to the challenges of an independent game developer. The second reason why progress might be slow on that intriguing indie production is because there’s just one person behind it all. Creating a console port is no small feat, and the time investment can be immense. Add to that the financial burden, something that a single individual often finds hard to shoulder.
A third explanation: The game “My Summer Car” was originally created using an outdated version of Unity, specifically Unity 5.0.0. As a result, there are likely technical challenges in updating it for current-generation consoles. It’s rumored that the game might not run smoothly or effectively on these newer systems.
Additionally, the latest modification to this title occurred in January, 2022. However, this update didn’t introduce any fresh material for the game, only providing DirectX 11 compatibility. Considering these factors, it seems unlikely that Amistech Games will opt to introduce their game on Xbox or PS5.
