„My own voice was driving me insane.” Extremely hard mission from GTA Vice City, but not the one with the helicopter, was impossible for Kent Paul’s voice actor

Danny Dyer is an actor known, among other things, for his role as Kent Paul in GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas. The Brit not only lent his voice to the laid-back music band manager with a tendency to get into trouble, but he also eagerly returned to Rockstar Games titles as a player. However, the artist revealed that he had trouble with the mission in which he appeared.

Danny Dyer shared in a video on the British GQ channel on YouTube that the most challenging aspect of his mission was becoming overly consumed by it, to the point where he couldn’t detach himself from it, and his own thoughts were driving him mad – as he confessed.

It seems like the individual is discussing a mission from Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, specifically the “Death Row” mission. This task involves rescuing Lance Vance who has been captured by Ricardo Diaz’s men at a junkyard in Little Haiti. Since the protagonist’s partner’s health bar is constantly decreasing, it implies that time is limited and we need to reach the location quickly to defeat the opponents. The player character seems confident about handling this mission due to his past success with a remote-controlled helicopter (in the “Demolition Man” mission), which some players find challenging. However, there’s a possibility he may be referring to another mission like “Back Alley Brawl,” though that would be unusual since it’s one of the early missions and not particularly difficult.

The artist admitted that embodying Kent Paul was an incredible experience and at the same time a key moment in his career. He also revealed that he received a salary of 15,000 pounds for his work, which at that time seemed like a decent amount to him. However, the sum proved to be just a fraction of the millions in revenue generated by the games he was involved in.

Danny Dyer also has roles in the EastEnders series and in the films Football Factory and Age of Heroes.
