MultiVersus Beetlejuice Trailer Highlights The Ghost With The Most's Spooky Special Moves

As a longtime fan of the spooky and the absurd, I can hardly contain my excitement for the arrival of Beetlejuice in MultiVersus! Growing up, Tim Burton’s 1989 film was a staple in my Halloween rotation, and now this mischievous ghost is joining forces with some of my favorite characters from across the multiverse.

In simple terms, the upcoming character for Warner Bros.’s MultiVersus platform fighter is none other than Beetlejuice from the 1989 movie of the same title. WB and Player First Games have recently revealed a new trailer spotlighting this eccentric “bio-exorcist,” set to join the playable roster next week.

In MultiVersus, Beetlejuice serves as an Assassin-type character, known for dishing out significant damage while maintaining agility across the battlefield. The trailer showcases a variety of moves from his eccentric arsenal; for instance, he can transform into different shapes and execute an airborne attack by summoning a Sandworm through a mystically conjured door. Furthermore, after delivering a knockout blow, you’ll notice a quick glimpse of “Beetlejuice! 1/3,” hinting at a power tied to the phrase “Beetlejuice” being called three times–much like how he is traditionally summoned.

In Beetlejuice’s character, his swift humor remains undiminished, with numerous humorous remarks echoing from the self-proclaimed Ghost With The Most as he navigates the lineup. At one instance, we overhear him advising himself to stay composed in the presence of Wonder Woman. In another situation, he comments that Harley Quinn appears to be his type of crazy, as they team up to pound Samurai Jack.

The trailer additionally offers a quick peek at several alternative outfits for Beetlejuice, such as one adorned with neon trimming and another reminiscent of a matador. Moreover, some existing characters will also be getting Beetlejuice-inspired transformations, with The Joker, Agent Smith, Superman, and Jake the Dog shown donning his iconic black-and-white stripes.

Right now, you can grab MultiVersus at no cost from your Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, or PC. On August 20th, Beetlejuice will be up for sale.
