Multi-genre adventure game Shuten Order announced for Nintendo Switch and PC, set to release on September 5

As an enthusiastic gamer, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve just learned about “Shuten Order,” a captivating multi-genre adventure game brought to us by the brilliant minds at EXNOA (DMM Games), Spike Chunsoft, and Tookyo Games! This intriguing title is scheduled for release on September 5, available on both Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. The masterful creation of this game has been entrusted to Neilo. For the Steam and western Nintendo Switch releases of this game, publishing rights are being managed by Spike Chunsoft. The digital-only version of the game will retail for $49.99, while a Digital Deluxe Edition priced at $64.99 will offer bonus items such as a digital art book and mini soundtrack. Notably, Spike Chunsoft’s versions of the game will include Japanese voiceovers accompanied by English text.

Individuals who choose to pre-purchase any edition of the game will be granted early access to a unique digital novel, overseen by Kazutaka Kodaka, the visionary founder of Tookyo Games and mastermind behind the popular Danganronpa franchise.

Today, Spike Chunsoft has declared that they’ll be launching Shuten Order as a digital title solely on Nintendo Switch and Steam in both North America and Europe. Pre-ordering is now an option for those eager to get their hands on it!
The Shuten Order game is an exciting adventure that’s been jointly developed by DMM Games and Tookyo Games, under the direction of Kazutaka Kodaka who’s famously known for his work on the Danganronpa series. In this unique title, players get to explore various genres within a single game, featuring elements such as stealth action horror, visual novel perspectives from multiple angles, and more.
In the Steam edition, responsibilities lie with Spike Chunsoft Co., Ltd., whereas for the Nintendo Switch versions in both North America and Europe, it’s Spike Chunsoft, Inc. who takes charge.

About Shuten Order

Amidst a world plagued by desolation and turmoil, an unusual religious sect named Shuten Order arises, longing for the downfall of mankind. After they passed away, the Founder gets brought back to life as the character Rei Shimobe, through an extraordinary event called “God’s Power.” Yet, this revival is incompletely executed—their past memories are lost, and their existence is confined to just four days.
As a gamer, here I am, faced with an unusual challenge. Two mysterious figures, claiming to be divine emissaries, have dropped by. The Characters of Shuten Order
Protagonist: Rei Shimobe
Originally known as the Shuten Order’s founder, who was reborn in a makeshift body, losing all memories of their past up until the moment they were killed. To preserve anonymity, they are referred to as “Rei Shimobe”. They have taken on the role of a detective with a tight deadline – they must find the murderer within four days from now before dawn breaks.
Angel: Himeru
One of the two individuals who claim to be divine messengers from God, appear to serve as guides for Rei… Could we say they’re tasked with helping her progress? Rei, being impulsive and prone to anxiety, often pushes herself forward even when hesitant. There seems to be a deep-rooted animosity and hostility toward Shuten that she harbors.
Angel: Mikotoru
One of the two individuals claiming to be God’s messengers appears to serve as a mentor for Rei, providing guidance in a calm, insightful, and analytically-minded manner. Yet, he tends to evade questions that delve deeper into the essential issues at hand.
Minister of Justice: Kishiru Inugami
As a fervent admirer, I find myself in the unique position of addressing none other than the Head of our Ministry of Justice – a man whose wisdom and flexibility in navigating the intricate labyrinth of law is unparalleled. A spirit of freedom, he’s known to utter the most unexpected phrases and act with spontaneity that keeps us all guessing. His uncanny ability to resolve disputes is legendary, earning him the moniker “Ghost White Arbitrator.” And let it be known, his passion for the law, or as some might say, his addiction to legal drugs, is a constant driving force behind his accomplishments.
Minister of Health: Yugen Ushitora
As a devoted fan, I’d like to highlight a remarkable figure: the Head of Health Ministry, who oversees our healthcare system, and simultaneously serves as the Director of Shuten General Hospital, a medical institution under his supervision. This man is often referred to as the “Guardian of the Afterlife” due to his exceptional medical abilities. Despite his robust and caring demeanor, he displays an uncanny attention to detail, bordering on obsession. Above all, he cherishes his dear younger sister deeply.
Minister of Science: Teko Ion
The leader of the Science and Technology Department, overseeing every facet of science and technology within the nation. Despite his brusque manner and actions, he is a genius with an intelligence that defies measurement, often credited for creating much of the country’s technological advancements. Known colloquially as “The Prodigy”.
Minister of Education: Honoka Kokushikan
The individual leading the Department of Education, responsible for both education and information dissemination, is often referred to as the “Word Weaver” due to her skill in handling and sometimes obfuscating information. Much about her identity remains hidden, with even her true appearance being a subject of speculation. Despite her tendency towards silence, whispers persist that she harbors aspirations to succeed as the future Founder…
Minister of Security: Manji Fushicho
The Leader of the Security Department, responsible for upholding national order, is known for her quick temperament and assertive nature. She has a strong disdain towards those who oppose the established order, earning her the nickname “The Queen of Heretic Pursuit.” Beneath this tough exterior, however, she yearns deeply for peace within the nation and strives to safeguard it at all costs.

Following Honoka Kokushikan’s poisoning, the main character Rei is guided to a specific school where he encounters three girls claiming to be “Kokushikan”. To expose the true Honoka (who possesses the antidote), raise each girl’s Affection level and execute a successful declaration of love.
