‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ Sets Disney+ Streaming Date

If you didn’t catch “Mufasa: The Lion King” in cinemas during the holidays, it will be available for streaming only on Disney+ from March 26th onwards. This Disney blockbuster made a staggering $709 million at the global box office. The exclusive release date for streaming was first revealed by People magazine.

Under the guidance of “Moonlight” and “If Beale Street Could Talk” filmmaker Barry Jenkins, “Mufasa: The Lion King” narrates the tale of young cub Mufasa who, after getting separated from his parents, eventually rises to lead the Pride Lands. Along the way, he forms a friendship with the lion Taka. Their bond is tested, however, as they embark on a journey that could potentially endanger their relationship.

Mufasa” is a movie that serves as a prequel to the 2019 digital remake of the 1994 animated hit “The Lion King.” This updated version earned over a billion dollars at global box offices. The talented cast for “Mufasa” includes Aaron Pierre, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Tiffany Boone, Kagiso Lediga, Preston Nyman, Blue Ivy Carter, Mads Mikkelsen, Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, Donald Glover, and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, among others.

This occasion features Lin-Manuel Miranda as the songwriter instead of Elton John and Tim Rice. He penned unique compositions such as “I Always Wanted a Brother,” “Milele,” “We Go Together,” “Tell Me It’s You,” “Brother Betrayed” and “Bye Bye.

In a generally favorable appraisal of the movie “EbMaster”, the lead film critic, Peter Debruge, explained that this significant addition to Disney’s collection skillfully sets up as a prequel for one of their cherished series.

The movie ‘The Lion King’ (Mufasa: The Lion King) is the newest entry in Disney’s collection of live-action adaptations based on animated originals, with previous films such as ‘The Little Mermaid,’ ‘Peter Pan & Wendy,’ and ‘Aladdin’ also falling under this category.
