‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ New Trailer: Young Mufasa and Scar Go From Brothers to Enemies

As a movie buff with a heart for Disney classics and a deep appreciation for the art of storytelling, I can hardly contain my excitement for “Mufasa: The Lion King.” Being a child of the ’90s, “The Lion King” was an integral part of my childhood, and its impact on me is as indelible as the mark it left on Barry Jenkins.

On Friday evening, Disney shared a detailed sneak peek of their forthcoming production titled “Mufasa: The Lion King” during the D23 event.

Prior to this, performers stepped onto the stage, offering brief previews of the movie’s opening theme. Before them, director Barry Jenkins emerged, sharing, “Just like all of you, ‘The Lion King’ left a lasting impression on me. The music resonated within me and each emotion felt as the story unfolded had a profound impact – a father passing down his legacy, a new pride being formed, and a young lion claiming his destiny. It’s an immense privilege to be a part of telling this story.”

Jenkins additionally shared that Lin-Manuel Miranda is responsible for composing the movie’s unique tunes. Upon entering the stage with Jenkins, Miranda was met with applause as they showcased the song, “I Always Wanted a Brother.”
