As a seasoned gamer with over three decades of experience under my belt, I’ve seen the evolution of gaming from 8-bit pixels to high-resolution graphics. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 has certainly caught my attention, but it seems to be a rollercoaster ride for its players.

In an update regarding Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, Asobo Studio has shared that they will continue to release updates to address bugs and improve performance. However, they are also focusing on resolving stability issues in the near future.

On November 22nd, there will be a hotfix for MSFS 2024, and another patch will follow on December 2nd. A bigger update is planned for December 9th, which may include more stability enhancements along with some additional fixes, but the specific details about the content of this update have not been disclosed yet.

Concurrently, Asobo Studio reports that by enhancing the server bandwidth, they’ve boosted the reliability of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 to a near-perfect level of 99.999%. They also assert that the servers and services are operating as intended. Regularly, the developers update the page with answers to frequently asked questions concerning MSFS 2024.

According to the studio, that’s their assurance. However, comments online suggest that by Tuesday, numerous individuals were playing MSFS 2024 without any problems. This is also reflected in the reviews on Steam – there appear to be more favorable opinions now than during the first week following its release. Players are particularly enthusiastic about how realistic the game world looks… when it functions correctly.

MSFS 2024 – it’s better, but not good

In this scenario, “more” denotes that over 40% of reviews for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 are favorable. However, not everyone is convinced due to persistent graphics issues, which in some cases, recall the visual quality of early PlayStation games. Definitely, it does not seem like a game from today’s era.

Critics have voiced concerns about the campaign being plagued with glitches and requiring players to unlock certain content, an aspect they find tiresome and repetitive when trying to access all the features. Furthermore, there are several technical issues like the lack of plane sounds on Xbox Series X/S and the camera’s habit of positioning itself in unexpected, peculiar locations following a reset of its position.

In addition to enhancing their play, they attempted to boost the game’s speed and efficiency. This led to a discussion on Reddit, as one user posted an illustration demonstrating the effect of reducing different options from their highest levels to minimum.

Fans were particularly frustrated when the developers temporarily blocked access to content from past Microsoft Flight Simulator versions, citing issues stemming from third-party modifications, such as difficulties entering the simulation.

It has been decided to temporarily block these types of add-ons at present. However, Asobo Studio has announced that a patch scheduled for December 9 will offer the ability to manually enable or disable this type of content blocking. Additionally, they will introduce the “safe launch” feature, which allows the game to be launched without any add-ons in urgent situations like persistent crashes.

I appreciate pixelated game characters that date back to the era of Game Boy (and possibly even earlier).
