As a long-time fan of MrBeast, it’s been quite a rollercoaster ride watching his YouTube journey unfold. From breaking records to setting new standards, MrBeast has always managed to keep us entertained and amazed. However, seeing his latest video struggle with viewership is a bit like witnessing the Titanic taking on water – it’s hard not to feel a pang of sadness.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’m MrBeast, and it’s no secret that my extravagant, viral videos often gather tens of millions of views in just hours. However, the recent collaboration I embarked on with two other stars isn’t performing as expected, and we’re really grappling to gain traction.
Jimmy Donaldson, also known as ‘MrBeast’, boasts the title of having YouTube’s channel with the most subscribers. Throughout the years, he’s shattered numerous platform records, including a video that astoundingly gathered an impressive 71 million views within a single day back in July 2024.
However, just a few short months after reaching internet stardom, there’s been a noticeable drop in his audience engagement, as evidenced by his most recent video posted on October 12.
As a gamer, I followed along as MrBeast journeyed through an underground city alongside friends like Kai Cenat, IShowSpeed, and Logan Paul. However, in contrast to his usual video successes, this particular adventure garnered about 60 million views over the course of five days.
For an ordinary content creator, these figures would be remarkable, but they represent a significant drop for Donaldson, who usually earns more than this in a single day. Intriguingly, this specific video has seen the slowest increase in views compared to any of his videos since May 2023.
As a loyal follower, I’ve noticed a concerning pattern with my favorite YouTuber – his view count per video has been decreasing gradually since his sensational ’50 YouTubers fighting for $1M’ upload back in July.
It’s not clear exactly what’s causing this decline, but it appears to be part of a persistent worsening trend for Donaldson. Notably, they began losing viewers and subscribers as early as August.
According to previous reports, Donaldson experienced a significant drop in viewership and subscriber count, with a decrease of about 153 million views and 12 million subscribers from July. Many viewers attribute this decline to the numerous controversies involving Donaldson, his business, and his associates.
Although MrBeast’s philanthropic videos, such as constructing homes in Jamaica and funding cataract surgeries, had been met with some skepticism in the past, the YouTuber is currently encountering a wave of criticism due to various factors, including his recently launched product, Lunchly, and controversy surrounding his former connection with Ava Kris Tyson, who was accused of misconduct towards minors.
In September, contestants of the ‘Beast Games’ show, hosted by MrBeast, filed a lawsuit against him, alleging “unfavorable working conditions” during production.
So far, I, as a gamer, haven’t seen any response from MrBeast regarding the ongoing legal matter, but he’s made it clear that he plans to delve deeply into an extensive review of his company during the summer months.
