MrBeast’s 1,000-player Minecraft video under fire as boys allegedly invade girls’ team

Okay, so I’m a huge MrBeast fan, but I’ve been hearing some really concerning stuff about his recent Minecraft video. Apparently, some of the guys actually went onto the girls’ teams and started messing things up, which is super frustrating and unfair to everyone involved. It’s a shame because the video seemed so cool at first, but this whole situation is really putting a damper on things.

MrBeast Gaming’s latest video featured a massive Minecraft battle between 500 boys and 500 girls. The two teams competed for a $50,000 prize, and the team with the most surviving players at the end won.

The event was filmed over a week and then condensed into a video almost an hour long for YouTube. Since it was published, though, several participants have reacted negatively to it online.

Some players on the girls’ team accused competitors, claiming that “Russian guys” had joined their team to deliberately lose matches and unfairly influence the outcome of the competition.

MrBeast’s 1,000 Players Simulate Civilization video comes into question

The video’s description explains how the participants were chosen. According to the announcement, the production team used the first 500 boys and 500 girls to sign up, in the order they joined, when the Minecraft server launched.

Monitoring over a thousand players was a huge undertaking, but staff members were actively searching for anyone violating the server’s rules or providing false information on their application. Those found guilty were banned, and the next applicant would take their place.

When the game had permadeath turned on, every loss of a player mattered a lot. So, it was surprising when several players on the girls’ team were eliminated early in the game. VTuber Zavvy, who was playing along, was the first to point it out.

Players falsely claimed that several individuals identifying as “Russian guys” used AI-generated images to join the girls’ team with the intent of harming the other players. These claims suggest this activity continued for multiple days. Additionally, screenshots purportedly show Russian players posting inappropriate messages on in-game signs visible to those on the girls’ team.

I experienced this event firsthand. It’s important to remember that server time was limited to just 3-6 hours each day.

Apparently, there was a major issue with the female players. Here’s what happened:

First, players pretending to be girls – some using AI-generated images or deepfakes – managed to join the female side. Then, they began indiscriminately killing other players.

Streamer Phoefi backed up the original accusations, suggesting that Russian hackers had compromised the group of girls involved and that the released video didn’t accurately reflect the true events.

A player posted a screenshot of a Discord message claiming an event moderator admitted deepfakes were used to create the teams.

Several players reported that some female players were selling their accounts to male players, seemingly to disrupt the game. One claim alleged these accounts were traded for food ordered through Uber Eats, but this hasn’t been confirmed.

Zavvy stated that by the time investigations took place and players were brought back after mistakenly dying, the event was nearly finished.

Others have defended MrBeast’s team, saying they were doing their best and that staff quickly helped people who were unfairly eliminated.

Okay, so the guys ended up winning the $50,000, but it wasn’t a clean victory. There was a lot of drama afterwards, and it blew up all over social media – honestly, millions of people were talking about it and a lot of them were pretty upset about what happened!
