MrBeast Wants to Buy LCS Team, Might Even Sign Faker!

Notably, the globally recognized content producer known as MrBeast continues to entertain aspirations of acquiring a professional eSports team specializing in League of Legends, within the League Championship Series (LCS) based in the U.S.A.

Speaking on TopMob’s new Clickbaited show, he even outlined his dream of winning Worlds.

In the realm of electronic sports, League of Legends continues to dominate as one of the most popular games to watch. Even though the League Championship Series (LCS) has been running for more than ten years, it’s still a highly competitive tournament, and its viewership remains robust, albeit showing a slight decline recently.

Rather than just having tens of millions of players a month enjoying the game, wouldn’t it be more effective to transform them into esports enthusiasts by getting one of the most popular influencers on board? That’s exactly what MrBeast has been considering for some time now, as he expressed his intention to join the LCS (League of Legends Championship Series) as early as 2022.

We inquired about Donaldson’s plans and whether they are still a possibility. Interestingly, MrBeast remains keen on joining the League Championship Series (LCS), and he even harbors aspirations of triumphing at the World Championships.

MrBeast wants to buy an LCS team and win Worlds

“I love League of Legends,” MrBeast reaffirmed in the first episode of our new Clickbaited interview series. When he was a teenager, beyond aspiring to be a content creator, he also dreamed of turning pro in LoL.

He shared with us that he once admired Faker and other top professional players greatly. Every year, he would eagerly watch League of Legends, as it was one of the few things he could connect with others about. Some of his friends in middle school even played League, and they often discussed it during lunch hours.

Even though he can’t dedicate as much time to competitive play as before, his love for the game continues to be intense. Achieving Platinum was his greatest accomplishment during his peak performance, but he maintains an elevated interest in the game’s esports world and hopes to participate when the opportunity arises.

MrBeast expressed his desire to acquire an LCS team. However, he mentioned that he has several commitments currently, but he’s determined to make the purchase eventually.

Previously, some content creators have formed teams like Nadeshot and his 100 Thieves organization or Disguised Toast with Disguised. However, MrBeast intends to make a grand entrance, one that surpasses all previous efforts in scale.

It’d be fantastic if I could amass a substantial fortune, enough to purchase an LCS team and invest heavily in player salaries. My goal would be to attract top-tier talent from around the world, aiming to make a strong showing at the World Championship. That would truly be something remarkable.

Unlike many others in the field who aim to generate profits, MrBeast approaches this endeavor differently. For him, it’s not about making money; rather, it serves as an enjoyable hobby fueled by his personal interests.

He went on to say, ‘This venture wouldn’t generate any profit whatsoever,’ especially considering his goal of winning the World Championship. It’d essentially be like… You understand when wealthy individuals purchase an NBA franchise? I don’t have such resources, but this would be akin to a less affluent person buying an LCS team, building it up with skilled players, and attempting to win the Worlds.

As a die-hard fan, I’ve always admired how MrBeast isn’t afraid to splurge when it comes to his video productions. When someone suggested that Faker could join the MrBeast team, he didn’t bat an eye – if Faker is available for purchase, he’s in!

It’s not because I adore esports in general, but rather my deep affection lies with League of Legends. To be honest, I have a profound passion for League of Legends.

MrBeast has set a target for purchasing a team by the year 2027. However, his interest depends on whether the current League of Legends system in North America can sustain itself effectively. For those who might not be aware, the LCS (League Championship Series) no longer exists, and Riot Games have reorganized the entire structure of the North American League of Legends competition.

The number of viewers has been decreasing, but the successful YouTuber remains interested provided that the league continues to thrive.

Let’s make sure the esports community continues thriving. I wouldn’t want to witness a drop in viewership or, after finally assembling a team and winning Worlds, have people say, “Esports is dying, League of Legends is dead.” Let’s keep this momentum going. One day, I’ll join the scene.
