MrBeast Slams Trump’s Tariffs as the ‘Nail in the Coffin’ for Small Businesses: ‘A Random Price Hike Was Pretty Brutal’

MrBeast has spoken out against President Donald Trump‘s global tariffs.

On Tuesday, I hopped onto my preferred platform to express my thoughts about the recent tariff proposal by Donald Trump and its effects on my Feastables chocolate bar line. This new round of expanded tariffs, unveiled at an event called “Liberation Day” by the President on April 2nd, has created quite a stir in global markets, causing the stock market to plummet even before they take effect on April 9th.

Interestingly, due to the new tariffs, it’s significantly less expensive for us to manufacture our globally sold chocolate bars, excluding those made in America, as other countries don’t impose a 20%+ tariff on our raw materials,” MrBeast stated. “[By the way] we ensure fair wages for our farmers, use ethically sourced beans, and so on, which means our cocoa costs were already high. An unexpected price increase was particularly harsh [to be honest]. We’ll find a solution. However, I sympathize with small businesses; this could potentially be their downfall.

Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast on YouTube, has soared to success since joining the platform in 2012. His channel boasts an impressive following of over 380 million subscribers, which has led him to launch various businesses. Among these ventures are his network of MrBeast Burger ghost kitchens and a line of pre-made children’s lunches called Lunchly.

There is growing concern that if current tariff disputes continue, China might completely prohibit the screening of American movies, thereby blocking the U.S. access to its second-largest film market. The existing tariffs on Chinese goods in the U.S. are already at 54%, but they could potentially double under President Trump’s new proposed increases, reaching up to 104%.
