MrBeast hits back at AI company using his name after thumbnail drama

As a devoted admirer of YouTube sensation Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson, I couldn’t help but notice his recent rebuttal towards an AI firm. This response came in response to the controversy surrounding him endorsing the company by using their services as a promotional code for content creators.

Towards the end of June, MrBeast presented a YouTube thumbnail generator powered by AI on Viewstats, designed to aid content creators with their videos. This tool enables users to select a specific YouTube channel, use the provided thumbnails as inspiration, and enter a prompt to generate something comparable for their own video uploads. Remarkably, it also allows them to overlay their face onto someone else’s within the generated thumbnail.

Nevertheless, the popular YouTube personality faced a significant backlash from his fellow YouTubers due to their logos being utilized to promote an AI tool. JackSepticEye strongly criticized MrBeast over this matter. “What on earth… and he even used my logo in the promotion for it! I despise what this platform is becoming. I detest AI,” was his response.

In response to the criticism, MrBeast initially pledged to modify the tool, but later abandoned this plan on June 27. Instead, he expressed a desire to encourage content creators to collaborate more closely with genuine artists.

MrBeast blasts AI discount code in his name

1of10 AI firm is providing a discount for those who prefer their AI thumbnail generator. However, the influencer MrBeast doesn’t seem to appreciate being used as a promotional code in this case.

He wrote on X: “That’s impolite, so I’ll respond in a way that will bring this ‘egocentric individual’ to my audience. For those who were upset with me because of the AI thumbnail tool, why don’t you direct your criticism towards 1of10 for taking jobs instead?

“I find that behavior disrespectful, so I’ll respond in a way that exposes such behavior to my followers. For those who criticized me for using an AI thumbnail tool, I encourage you to address the issue of job theft with 1of10 instead.

One of the founders from the company reached out to Donaldson, proposing a conversation over the phone to discuss his concerns.

According to MrBeast, at first, the AI tool didn’t quite meet the target. Instead, the ViewStats tool would display portfolios of artists who could potentially be hired for commissions.
