MrBeast helped build a real SpaceX rocket part that’s going to space

Popular YouTuber MrBeast played a part in preparing a SpaceX rocket for launch by helping to attach a heat-shield tile to the Starship vehicle. He actually contributed a physical piece to the rocket that’s planned to fly to space.

This clip comes from MrBeast’s recent YouTube video, ‘$1 vs $1,000,000,000 Futuristic Tech!’. In it, he got a behind-the-scenes look at SpaceX, seeing how they’re mass-producing their newest spacecraft.

I got to go behind the scenes at SpaceX and check out the Starship factory with MrBeast! We talked to the engineers and they showed us how they’re building rockets almost like a car assembly line. It’s all geared towards being able to launch rockets to the Moon and Mars a lot more often.

The tour featured a detailed view of the heat-shield tiles on Starship, which safeguard the spacecraft when it returns to Earth through the atmosphere. Engineers explained that each Starship uses approximately 18,000 of these light, ceramic tiles.

MrBeast installs heat-shield tile to SpaceX rocket

During a live event, Karl showed how strong SpaceX’s heat-shield tiles are by using a blowtorch on one placed on MrBeast’s hand. Afterwards, SpaceX let MrBeast, something usually done only by their trained technicians, attach a tile to the Starship.

SpaceX employees explained in the video that the tile MrBeast put on the rocket is a critical component designed to stay with the vehicle during flight, potentially even going to space. They also cautioned him that he’d only get one chance to install it correctly, as any mistakes would mean the tile would have to be destroyed.

So, I finally got that tile locked into place, and MrBeast actually signed it! He was joking around, saying that if the rocket didn’t launch right, everything we were seeing on camera was just AI-generated. It was a funny moment, honestly.

The visit clearly showed just how big SpaceX’s plans are. Representatives explained that the Starship is designed to be completely reusable and able to carry as many as 100 people on each flight. Ultimately, SpaceX hopes to launch thousands of these rockets to help make humanity a species that lives on multiple planets.
