What to know:
- The MOVE token will have a maximum supply of 10 billion with 10% of that being allocated to early users and community members.
- 22.5% of supply will be set aside for early investors, the company raised $38 million in April.
- The Movement Network was built using Move, a programing language created by Facebook that is behind the Sui and Aptos networks.
As a seasoned researcher with a penchant for blockchain technology and a knack for spotting promising projects, I find myself intrigued by the upcoming launch of the MOVE token by Movement Network. With my finger on the pulse of the crypto world, I’ve seen countless projects come and go, but what sets Movement apart is their ties to Move, the programming language developed by none other than Facebook.
Starting from Monday, the Ethereum layer-2 network known as Movement (built with MoveVM) will distribute its native token. A portion of these tokens will be given away as an air drop to early adopters and active members within the community.
The token, MOVE, will be listed on Binance via the exchange’s airdrops portal, and will also be listed on prominent South Korean exchanges Upbit and Bithumb.
In April, the startup Movement Labs secured a whopping $38 million during their Series A funding round, with Polychain Capital spearheading the investment. Notably, this programming language called Move was initially developed by Facebook, and has since been instrumental in the creation of projects such as Sui and Aptos.
MOVE will be listed on Binance at 13:00 UTC and 20:00 local time on Upbit.
10 billion units of the cryptocurrency MOVE are in total circulation, out of which 1 billion are earmarked for early adopters and the community, 2.25 billion are reserved for investors, and another 1 billion will be allocated to the foundation.
Initially, airdrops can be initiated on the Ethereum blockchain, but for a 1.25 times bonus, users may choose to claim them on the Move network at a later time, as stated on the company’s website.
