As a lifelong fan of Sherlock Holmes mysteries, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming CBS series “Watson”! With Morris Chestnut taking on the iconic role of Dr. John Watson, I’m confident that this show will breathe new life into the classic tale while still paying homage to its rich history.

The new CBS medical mystery show titled “Watson,” featuring Morris Chestnut, has officially announced its airdate.

The show, titled “Watson,” is set to premiere following the AFC Championship Game on January 26, 2025. This will be around 10 p.m. Eastern Time, provided the game and subsequent coverage end by then. You can catch it on CBS, or stream it on Paramount+. From February 16 onwards, “Watson” will air every Sunday at 10 p.m. ET in its regular slot.

Earlier news confirmed Morris Chestnut will portray Dr. John Watson, the trusted associate of the legendary detective Sherlock Holmes. According to the series’ synopsis, the plot unfolds six months following the demise of Sherlock Holmes, killed by Moriarty. In this new series, Dr. John Watson is depicted as a medical professional, leading a clinic specializing in treating uncommon diseases. However, Watson’s past isn’t completely behind him – he and Moriarty are set to continue a tale that has captivated viewers for over a century.

Additionally, the show features actors such as Eve Harlow, Peter Mark Kendall, Ritchie Coster, Inga Schlingmann, and Rochelle Aytes, along with Chestnut.

Craig Sweeny penned the initial episode and holds the role as showrunner and executive producer. Meanwhile, Chestnut takes on both the executive producer duties and acting role. Furthermore, Sallie Patrick, Larry Teng, Shäron Moalem MD, PhD, Aaron Kaplan of Kapital Entertainment, and Brian Morewitz are also credited as executive producers.
