Morgan Wallen’s SNL Exit: Shade or Just Clumsy? You Won’t Believe It!

On “Saturday Night Live,” renowned country artist Morgan Wallen performed two songs from an anticipated album set to be one of the year’s major hits. However, it wasn’t the music that sparked the most conversation after the show ended; instead, it was his sudden departure during the traditional group hugs at the end and a subsequent social media post implying he needed to hurry and leave New York, which fueled speculation about whether or not Wallen had a pleasant “SNL” experience.

People close to Wallen claim that the idea he was expressing tension is unfounded. They assure us that he enjoyed himself and there was no hidden message in his sudden departure or his Instagram post, as it was not meant as a slight.

At the usual end of “SNL”, Wallen lingered just enough to acknowledge the audience and give host Mikey Madison a friendly embrace. However, deviating from the norm, he hurried off the stage instead of staying for more cast interaction, walking right into the audience and even past the camera. This was an unprecedented move, as seasoned “SNL” viewers couldn’t recall a guest exiting the stage so abruptly or in such a bold manner.

After the performance, Wallen’s only social media update was a picture of his private plane parked on the runway in New York City. The caption read: “Transport me to the land of God.

1. Many believed this hasty exit was unintentional, perhaps a momentary lapse in judgment on his part, without considering the potential implications.
2. Some speculated that it was a calculated move, intended as a rude gesture towards the show itself.
3. A third group saw it as a bold stand, suggesting he may have faced rudeness from a liberal cast prior and this was his way of asserting himself.

Based on information from his sphere, it appears he opted for the initial choice – this wasn’t meant to be disrespectful, and the noise simply misunderstood him as being casual and spontaneous as always.

When Wallen hurriedly moved towards the camera as part of his escape, it turned out to be an unintentional slip-up that had everyone in stitches, as those privy to his camp’s account explained; this was his usual routine during studio rehearsals and camera setup, so he wasn’t conscious of being on camera when he exited the stage.

Or,

Wallen’s hasty dash towards the camera to flee brought about an “oops” moment that left everyone in stitches, as those in his camp described; this was how he entered and exited the studio all week during rehearsals and camera blocking, so he didn’t realize he was on camera when he left the stage.

From my perspective as a film enthusiast, when this celebrity cryptically posted “Get me to God’s country,” which seemed to subtly criticize New York City without mentioning pleasure about his performance or directly referring to “SNL,” it was just par for the course with him. People who know him well say that he seldom shares posts about his accomplishments or accolades, and last fall, he remained silent on social media regarding his CMA Awards win for Entertainer of the Year, an honor he wasn’t present to receive.

On Sunday morning, there was still chatter about whether my departure from “SNL” was intentional or not. Some people pointed out the apparent coldness between me and the cast before I left, or they shared screenshots showing Ego Nwodim and Kenan Thompson appearing to share a amused moment as she glanced in the direction where I exited. Regardless of the intention behind it, the talk persisted.

A sampling of tweets:

Amazing! Morgan Wallen exiting the stage during the NBC Saturday Night Live credits? Over my years of watching SNL, I can’t recall ever seeing such a thing. To many of us, that stage is hallowed ground.”

“Wow, Morgan Wallen leaving the stage during the SNL credits? After decades of watching SNL, I don’t think I’ve ever seen this before. For lots of us, that stage holds a special significance.

As a dedicated cinema-lover, I find it utterly frustrating to see the relentless backlash against Morgan Wallen for his recent stage exit before the end credits. It seems as though he’s been under fire all week by what appears to be an overly zealous liberal crowd.

In my opinion, he doesn’t owe anyone an explanation or apology, and it’s disheartening to see such a negative response from individuals who can’t seem to move on from past events. It’s time for everyone to take a step back, mature a bit, and learn to let go of grudges. After all, we should all be growing, not stagnating in anger.

Accompanying a screenshot of his Instagram post labeled “God’s country”: “Morgan Wallen showing even more of the immature, petty behavior he infamously showcased by running offstage in the center aisle and past the camera during the SNL curtain call… This, along with his thoughtless bragging about private jets, is incredibly disappointing and detracts from someone in the country music industry.

“Morgan Wallen shows the SNL cast exactly how he feels. Love it!”

There’s something incredibly satisfying about Morgan Wallen walking off stage during a goodnight. I hope the door doesn’t slam too hard on its way out!

If you revisit the videos from midweek featuring Mikey with Morgan and Chloe (the ones where Mikey Madison introduces himself as the host of SNL this week alongside Morgan Wallen), you’ll notice that he appeared reluctant to participate in those as well. It seems likely that he only agreed to do SNL because his manager and agent encouraged him to.

It’s not hard to understand: Morgan Wallen left Dancing with the Stars because most of the cast, except for Queen Mikey, come across as self-righteous and smug liberals who believe they are superior to conservatives. I wouldn’t stay any longer than necessary in their company either.”

This version maintains the original’s sentiment while using more polite language and avoiding slang or derogatory terms.

I’m curious about any secrets or favors that Morgan Wallen might hold over Lorne Michaels, which could explain why he continues to be asked to perform, despite his habit of abruptly leaving the stage during the final curtain call after the show.

Supporters of The Big Unhappy and Disgruntled Liberal Snowflakes are upset over this Great Insult, as they search for this video on platform X, due to the fact that very few people enjoy the dull, humorless content that Saturday Night Live now produces.

As a die-hard cinema enthusiast, I’ve got to say that while some musical artists have graced the stages on recent episodes of “SNL,” Olivia Wallen wasn’t among them, except for her performances of “I’m the Problem” and “Just in Case.” However, Joe Jonas did show up in a pre-recorded skit.

As a film enthusiast, I’ve always kept an eye on SNL and its artists. In October 2020, I found myself in a sticky situation with the show when I was initially booked but subsequently un-booked after footage surfaced of me disregarding pandemic protocols by kissing a woman at a gathering prior to the scheduled episode. Jack White stepped in at the last minute for my October 10th appearance, and I issued an apology for the lapse that led to my cancellation. However, Michael Che reassured us all that I would be welcomed back, and true to his word, I graced the SNL stage once more on December 5 of the same year, featuring in a sketch during that episode.

Over the weekend, he made his comeback to “SNL,” marking the first time since early 2021 when a controversial video emerged showing him casually using a racial slur. This incident led to his exclusion from major TV networks and award shows for over a year. However, despite this backlash, he has continued to thrive as one of the most prominent figures in modern music.

So far in the 21st century, Billboard ranks Wallen’s “Dangerous: The Double Album” as the leading album. His latest album, “One Thing at a Time,” currently holds the No. 7 spot among this century’s top albums. His upcoming release, titled “I’m the Problem,” is due out on May 16th.
