Morgan Wallen asks police to turn up his song as it comes on radio while he’s being arrested

Country singer Morgan Wallen jokingly asked officers to increase the volume of his own song while he was being taken into custody in a police vehicle after it played on the radio. He requested they “turn it up”.

In April 2024, Morgan Wallen was accused of reckless endangerment after throwing a chair from the roof of a bar in Nashville. The country music star first said he hadn’t done it, but later apologized and, in December 2024, admitted guilt to two charges.

The ‘Last Night’ singer admitted they didn’t act well and took accountability for their actions, sharing this on social media a few weeks after it happened. “I’m not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility,” they posted.

So, the Associated Press had been asking for the bodycam footage from my arrest for a while, and it finally came out in September. It’s pretty wild – there’s a clip going around online of me getting arrested, and the irony is, one of *my* songs is playing in the background! It’s been going viral, which is just…a lot to process, honestly. I can’t believe it’s all happening.

Morgan Wallen sang along to his song in police car

The Metro Nashville Police Department made footage of Wallen’s arrest public, which includes him protesting his innocence and asking officers to contact country singer Eric Church – the owner of the bar where the incident occurred.

In the end, the police were able to arrest Wallen and place him in a patrol car. Interestingly, his own song was playing as he was being taken into custody.

This is me with Thomas Rhett! Let’s turn up the volume. That’s me and TR! There I am, right there,” he exclaimed before quickly singing a bit of the song. “Alright now, me and TR!”

Okay, so I just saw the video – it’s crazy! Apparently, Morgan Wallen got arrested after someone says he threw a chair off the roof of a bar in downtown Nashville.

He’s saying he didn’t do anything wrong, and get this – he actually called Eric Church while he was in the cop car and they started jamming to his own song! Seriously, you gotta see this.

Honestly, I think TR is one of the best people around. I just can’t picture him ever getting into trouble with the law, so hearing about an arrest just doesn’t seem right,” the singer said.

As mentioned previously, the video has circulated widely on social media ever since the police released it. Many viewers have called it “iconic”, commenting that being arrested while your own song plays is a memorable experience.

In a separate video, Wallen asked the police officers to leave the area because fans were taking pictures of him while he was inside the police car.
