As a dedicated Dead by Daylight fanatic with countless hours under my belt, I can’t help but feel a tinge of excitement at the prospect of new killers gracing the 2v8 mode in the near future. The list of potential additions, featuring familiar faces like Clown, Doctor, and Leatherface, alongside horror icons such as Pyramid Head, Freddy, and Michael Myers, has me eagerly anticipating the next round.
In the wrap-up of the initial phase for Dead by Daylight’s 2v8 mode, it’s worth noting that we might expect some fresh killer characters to join this gameplay mode down the line.
In their Discord chat, DBDLeaks shared a roster of potential killers equipped with artificial intelligence code, hinting at a future integration in the 2v8 mode. From then on, any new killers joining 2v8 should possess this AI code, enabling a bot to step in if a player drops out.
The list of killers including DBD originals like the Clown, Doctor, Legion, and Plague – but also licensed names like Leatherface, Pyramid Head, Freddy, and Michael Myers.

It appears quite plausible that Dead by Daylight might introduce these characters into the 2v8 mode in the future. Notably, DBD has suggested that the return of 2v8 is imminent, referring to the recently concluded event as the “initial version” of the mode. Introducing additional killers could potentially resolve queue time issues in the future, as players would no longer be matched with another killer using the same character. Queue times were a persistent issue during this iteration of 2v8, with many players waiting up to 30 minutes for a match.
It seems that although adding more killers might enhance the game, DBDLeaks pointed out that the AI code for the mentioned killers is still under development and hasn’t been tried in a 2v8 scenario yet. This suggests that it may take some time before these killers are incorporated into the game.
In Dead by Daylight, the AI is utilized in the 2v8 (two survivors versus eight killers) game mode for the killer bots. However, players can also engage with these AI-controlled killers in a different setting: custom matches. It’s possible that the code related to these AI killers could be applied to custom matches instead of 2v8, but since 2v8 is quite popular, it seems more probable that Behaviour Interactive might introduce these characters into the 2v8 mode. At this point, no official confirmation has been made, so stay tuned for further updates about Dead by Daylight’s 2v8 mode and potential additions to the game when it comes back.
