More Batman Villains Are Getting Their Own Movie

As a die-hard comic book fan who has spent countless hours poring over issues featuring these iconic villains, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and curiosity about the upcoming Bane and Deathstroke movie. On one hand, the prospect of seeing these two formidable adversaries share the screen is thrilling, especially since they haven’t had much interaction in the comics. But on the other hand, I can’t help but wonder how they’ll manage to weave a compelling story that justifies their team-up.

In the upcoming Batman film, it seems that Bane and Deathstroke might appear together. If this were the case, the Dark Knight would undoubtedly face significant challenges. However, DC Studios appears to be planning to feature these villains in their own movie instead of teaming up to defeat Batman.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Matthew Orton has been hired to write an as-yet-unnamed Captain America film. At this point, a director for the project hasn’t been chosen. Previously, Orton worked on Marvel’s Moon Knight series, and he also created the South African crime series Devil’s Peak and penned the scripts for World War II movie Operation Finale and the thriller Cleaner.

What’s conspicuously absent from this film report is the connection point that unites Deathstroke and Bane. Given their contrasting roles – Deathstroke typically fights against the Titans, while Bane is a key adversary of Batman – they appear to be an unlikely duo. Moreover, there’s no shared comic book past to draw upon. It seems these two characters rarely cross paths, and the only thing linking them is their status as prominent DC Comics villains.

In 2012, Tom Hardy took on the role of Bane in The Dark Knight Rises, a significant departure from his brief, glorified appearance in Batman & Robin. On the other hand, Deathstroke, portrayed by Joe Manganiello, was only given a cameo in both versions of Zack Snyder’s Justice League. However, if Ben Affleck’s script for Batman had been implemented, Manganiello’s Deathstroke would have been the main antagonist instead.

DC Studios hasn’t set a date for Bane and Deathstroke.
