As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for intriguing puzzle games and a deep-rooted affection for the Monument Valley series, I am beyond ecstatic about the upcoming launch of Monument Valley 3 on December 10! The tantalizing glimpse of the sailing traversal mechanic and the mind-bending puzzles in the new footage have only fueled my anticipation.
During the Netflix Geeked Week 2024 Live event, a portion was focused on the expanding Netflix Games platform for mobile devices. Here, it was announced that pre-registrations are now available for Monument Valley 3, the newest addition to the highly praised mobile puzzle series, which is set to be launched on December 10.
Fresh videos for Monument Valley 3 were privately displayed during a recent press conference earlier this week. One video demonstrated an extended exploration of the new sailing navigation system, which was briefly unveiled in the initial trailer, where players keep their finger pressed and maneuver it across the screen to steer the boat in various directions. Another video showcased a distinct puzzle set in the game’s signature isometric view, with certain pathways becoming hidden by an intense beam of white light in the backdrop.
One month following its unveiling at Gamescom Opening Night Live, we’re now officially announcing the release date. Before Monument Valley 3 arrives, both the initial Monument Valley game and Monument Valley 2 will be available on Netflix. The original is available as of today, while Monument Valley 2 will be accessible starting October 29th.
During the Netflix Geeked Week event, it was unveiled that additional games will be added to Netflix Games in the forthcoming weeks. These include a fresh Spongebob-themed puzzle game called “Spongebob: Bubble Pop F.U.N.”, along with “Blood Line: A Rebel Moon Game” and “Squid Game Unleashed”, both derived from Netflix originals. Other titles to look forward to are “Street Fighter IV: Champion Edition” and “Civilization VI”, both marked as “coming soon”. Lastly, a modern version of the timeless board game Battleship will debut on September 24.
Monument Valley 3 will be released for mobile devices on December 10, and it can only be accessed via the Netflix app. Any subscribers with an active Netflix account can download these games at no additional cost.
