Mastering the bow in Monster Hunter Wilds requires a solid grasp of how Trick Arrow Gauges and Tracer Rounds function.
In the newest edition of Capcom’s popular Monster Hunter Wilds series, several enhancements and modifications have been implemented compared to previous games. The new focus mode enables you to inflict greater damage on a monster’s weak spots with any weapon, whereas each individual weapon has also undergone distinct, boosting their overall power.
In the group of updates, the Bow has been equipped with a novel, intricate system known as the Trick Arrow Tracker and Markers. Although the Trick Arrow Tracker and Markers are separate entities, they function together. Understanding the intricacies of the Trick Arrow Tracker and Markers is crucial to becoming proficient with the Bow in Monster Hunter Wilds.
How the Trick Arrow Gauge and Tracers Work in Monster Hunter Wilds
Trick Arrow Gauge is a new gauge meter that you can find on the lower right screen above the coating selection. The gauge has three markings, meaning you have three charges to perform techniques associated with the Bow. This includes the usage of Tracers as well as applying various coatings. Each of these techniques will consume one-third of the Trick Arrow Gauge.
Tracers are a special type of arrow, which mark a specific part of the monster as a target, allowing the subsequent arrows to hit the targetted part for a limited time and explode after a certain time. Additionally, it increases the range of the follow-up arrows.
This is greatly beneficial when targeting weak and breakable parts of a monster for further damage. Every bow has unique coatings, such as Power, Close-Range, Pierce, and Exhaust. Applying a specific coating offers a unique effect for the next few arrows.
How To Fill the Trick Arrow Gauge in Monster Hunter Wilds
When employing the Bow, the Trick Arrow Gauge is vital. Filling this gauge has multiple methods, including attacking, powering up, and evading. Successful strikes and stringing together combos will substantially fill the Trick Arrow Gauge, but it can also be boosted through charged attacks.
Charging attacks are a great way, as they fill the Trick Arrow Gauge considerably. Additionally, executing Discerning Dodge can also fill the gauge. To perform a Discerning Dodge, you need to execute a perfect dodge right before the attack lands on you.
