Summary
- Monster Hunter Wilds has had its Trophy list revealed, and yes, there are trophies dedicated to Gold Crown monsters.
- That said, the Binoculars will now have the ability to spot which Crown a monster has, making things less frustrating.
- Previously, Monster Hunter players were stuck measuring creatures at a 90-degree angle to try and determine its variety.
As Monster Hunter Rise (releasing on February 28) draws nearer, details about its trophies have surfaced online. If you’re curious whether you’ll need to secure a Gold Crown to complete them, the answer is affirmative.
Initially disclosed by PowerPyx, a platform specializing in PlayStation Trophies and offering online tutorials, Monster Hunter Rise has been announced to debut with a grand total of 50 trophies. Among these, there are two Gold, eleven Silver, and thirty-six Bronze, with the rare Platinum being the ultimate goal yet to be achieved.
In essence, there are three trophies set aside for Miniature Crowns, and another pair, one Silver and one Gold, for Gold Crowns. Interestingly, there’s just one Bronze trophy that can be won for a Silver Crown, but it can only be unlocked with a Gold one.
In simpler terms, don’t worry if the thought of pursuing a Gold Crown makes you grind your teeth. Previously, it was disclosed that when Wilds launches, its Binoculars will be able to identify if a creature is of the Crown type. Furthermore, there’s an award specifically for spotting a Gold Crown monster.
Gold Crowns Were The Bane Of Monster Hunter World
Using binoculars to identify Gold Crowns could significantly increase the number of people who earn the Platinum Trophy, as less than five percent (4.62%) of PlayStation Network (PSN) registered trophy hunters have achieved it so far.
It was incredibly challenging to get Gold Crowns, even though they were among the prizes for the World’s trophy collection. To illustrate this difficulty, consider this Steam guide that emphasizes the requirement of personally observing a monster before deciding if it’s worth chasing.
Fundamentally, instead of calculating the type of a monster by its side view, players can focus on hunting directly without needing to measure as often. This simplification should lead to more action and less calculation, making it a noteworthy improvement.
