Monster Hunter Wilds almost reaches perfection – truly, my review was filled with praise for Capcom’s newest monster-hunting game. What sets it apart is that it boasts the finest combat the series has ever offered. Moreover, its collection of ferocious monsters is nothing short of extraordinary.
Although currently, just 29 monsters exist, with additional ones planned for future updates, each monster stands out remarkably as its own entity. This distinctiveness is amplified by the exceptional variety in Wilds’ weaponry and armor collections.
From the regal, battle-ready aura of Lala Barina to the sturdy, Viking-esque armor of Arkveld, there’s an abundance of impressive gear sets that make picking one a tough decision. The developers have also given the game a fresh look by updating its weapon designs, discarding the monotonous bone weapons that were prevalent in Monster Hunter World.
Luckily, gamers have the option to outfit their Hunter character with the multi-layered armor setup, allowing them to dress up their character as they prefer. Yet, it’s crucial to enhance this system by incorporating a specific missing feature.
Monster Hunter Wilds is missing major fashion feature

Hey there! You’ve probably figured out by now that I’m referring to layered weapons. It’s no secret how much I adore the intricate designs of these weapons in Monster Hunter World and Rise, particularly in their Iceborne/Sunbreak expansions. However, Wilds boasts a plethora of stunning weapon aesthetics that have me yearning for this feature to be implemented right away!
In particular, it’s worth noting that Artian weapons tend to be the go-to choice in any endgame scenario. Although these high-powered tools offer the best DPS potential for hunters, they can’t help but appear rather uninteresting aesthetically.
The green jade patterns aren’t exactly lackluster, but they can’t compete with the raw appeal of the Wilds’ scaly, toothy creatures. After all, who wouldn’t want to slay colossal beasts using something as sleek and stylish as the Dusterstolz? Its name is pretty cool too!
Oh boy, we’re decked out in multi-layered armor, flaunting the best scale patterns and stylish bottoms, but it seems like there’s a missing piece – the layered weaponry! Come on, Capcom, let’s not forget about that detail, shall we?
