In addition to the single-player mode of Monster Hunter Wilds, the game offers numerous methods for players to interact with one another beyond simple voice communication. These include emotes and messages, allowing you to convey information to other players without needing to speak aloud.
As a gamer, I’ve often found myself puzzled by the lack of clear instructions on using emotes and sending messages within the game. Instead, it seems like an intriguing mystery we gamers must solve ourselves at our own pace. Navigating this process can be somewhat frustrating at times, which is why I’ve put together this guide to help you swiftly learn how to employ emotes and exchange messages, ensuring smoother communication during your thrilling hunts.
How To Emote
For quite some time, emotes have been an integral part of the gaming sphere, and Monster Hunter Wilds is not an exception. In this game, they are known as Gestures and Poses; each one enables your character to perform a unique animation expressing various meanings.
To execute a Gesture, players should first navigate to their menu by pressing the Start button and then select the Items & Equipment tab. In this section, they can choose the Radial Menu Customization option. This action will open a new menu where players can decide which emote they wish to assign to a slot on the radial menu by moving to the Communication menu.
Once a player has placed their preferred emotes in the desired slots, they can summon the in-game Radial Menu by either pressing L1 (for PlayStation) or LB (for Xbox controller), or simply pressing ‘V’ on keyboard. With the menu open, they merely need to choose their emote and observe their character enact the animation for all other players to witness.
How To Send Messages

Players don’t have the ability to compose full messages to each other, but they are free to select and instantly dispatch predefined messages to their teammates at any moment.
You can effortlessly accomplish this task by returning to the Start menu and navigating to the Communications section. In this list, you can pick the Chat feature, allowing you to choose a pre-set message to send to another player.
Players can selectively decide on whom to send their messages, whether it’s certain individuals or the whole group in the lobby. This adds an extra dimension of personalization to their communication methods.
These messages could additionally feature an Expression or Action symbol for the recipient’s understanding upon transmission, coupled with fun Stickers that add a visual flair to the text.
If a player fails to see a message delivered, they can always check the Chat Log located within the Communications section of the main menu. By doing so, they can review past conversations that occurred during the gameplay, ensuring they don’t miss any important details. This feature helps keep players engaged as they progress through various quests and hunts together.
