Monster Hunter Wilds has already received a day one patch ahead of launch, players report

Even though the official launch date for Monster Hunter Wilds is set for February 28, those who pre-ordered the game are finding that they can start downloading it early. However, these early adopters have stumbled upon an unexpected update prior to its release.

Online reports suggest that players preloading Monster Hunter Rise on PS5 are also downloading a 17.9GB update labeled as version 1.000.020, in addition to the game’s standard 50GB size. This implies that the base game version already contains an initial patch intended for its official launch. As of now, Capcom has yet to disclose the details of this early update or discuss the changes it brings.

Initial updates for vast video games frequently occur on the first day of release. These updates usually tackle problems like glitches, crashes, and late adjustments that were discovered after the game was deemed complete but before it started public play. Such issues are often brought to attention by reviewers or influential figures who get early access for content creation.

Monster Hunter Wilds preload start times

The information on the day-one patch for Monster Hunter Wilds originates from individuals who were able to download it prematurely.

Developer CAPCOM has announced that the preload for Monster Hunter Wilds on PS5 will become available 48 hours before launch in each region, which corresponds to 9pm PST on Feb. 25. Simultaneously, preloads for Xbox Series X|S and PC will also start at this time. Be sure to check that you have ample storage space to accommodate both the base game and any necessary updates before initiating the preload process.
